Is my bump normal?

This is my second pregnancy, but first one was 5 years ago, so can't remember alot of things.

Anyway, I am 19+4 and my bump has really pushed out and I look very rotund right from under my boobs down to my pubic area. However, my tummy feels quite hard just below my breasts, but more flabby at the bottom where the baby actually is.

Please tell me if this is normal because for some reason I'm feeling qukite freaked out about it. I also feel very stretched and heavy, I have my 20 wk scan and a consultant appt tomorrow, but I feel too embarrassed to ask about this in case I am being really stupid!

There are no stupid questions ask away anything you like to the consultant, it is their job to reassure and inform you. So take charge!!
Good luck with the pregnancy. A mate of mine says her bump second time around is very different and just bigger! Baby usually not right at the bottom until they ready to come out... maybe its stretching and got its feet in your ribs.

Well I assume it is there as that's where I feel all the kicks. So may I presume he/she has their head up in my ribs with their legs in my lower belly? Although I am pretty sure I have felt some somersaulting, but the kicks always seem to be in the right hand side at the bottom.

Bloody hell I am going to start worrying about that now lol.

I had the same at your stage, very squishy bottom and hard top, just under my breasts.

Its now hard all the way down now, I'm 32 weeks. I can still feel (and see!) kicks right at the top of my bump though so baby is either sitting right at the top of my bump or is very long and stretched out from top to bottom!

When they listen for the heartbeat last time they were listening around the belly button area so midwife didn't expect the baby to be that low.

Don't know if that makes you feel better!

Thanks BTM, my last appt with the midwife was at 16 wks and my bump was only just emerging and was all in my lower belly and the hb was just under my bellybutton.

I should know what's going on as I already have a 5 yo, but I was alot smaller at this stage last time as I had lost 2 1/2 stone due to morning sickness and upset tummy. I am not sure where my uterus is supposed to be at this stage, I feel totally thick where pregnancy is concerned!

All the best for today
Enjoy seeing your baby :)

Let us know how you got on at the appt

remember your bumps not just baby, it's also all the organs that the baby has shoved out of the way! I'm 20 weeks and the same, I can feel the top of my uterus just above my belly button, but my bump comes from under my boobs, that part I assume is made up by all the bits that normally fill up the bit under my belly button!
