4/5 engaged.....what does this actually mean??

Hi,
I am 38 weeks and had an appointment with midwife today and was told that baby is 4/5 engaged.
I was so pleased to hear the word 'engaged' that I didnt think to ask any questions! I have since looked on line to see if this is something to get excited about and read that it goes backwards as in 5,4,3,2,1 to fully engaged??
This is my first baby so I really have no idea but it just makes no sense to me! surly 5/5 would be fully engaged so that would mean that 4/5 is almost there??

the number is what they can feel

so 4/5 means they can feel 4/5 of the head

Thank you thisisyesterday, that does make sense now!!

But even if it is fully engaged it doesn't mean it's going to happen that day so be warned!
