Sounds silly and am probably not now I've said this but really 'feel' that I'm pregnant. It's too soon to test and was not ttc so it's not that it's just wishful thinking. I know you are not supposed to have symptoms for at least couple of weeks after conception but I feel same as did with my last child (dc3) really hungry, strange twinges in lower back and abdomen and emotionally strange. It's hard to put into words but feeling of excitement keeps coming over me and feels like I have special secret. Does all this sound like ravings of mad woman? Or did any of you really feel that you were pg before test confirmed it? I'll prob disappear next week when I find out it was all in my head lol, but think we are seriously going to think about a number 4 if not.

I got a horrible stabbing pain in my belly button, all other symptoms were consistent with a visit from AF. When my period hadn't arrived within a week I did a test and it was a BFP Grin

ttalloo · 06/09/2010 19:43

I just 'knew' I was pregnant with DS1. About a week after ovulation my boobs just felt bigger, I had heartburn all the time (which I never normally do) and I just felt different. I did a test a week later and lo, I was pregnant.

Didn't have a clue with DS2, though! We were TTC but I even forgot that my period was due.

I hope you are pregnant, coraline - that special secret feeling is lovely!

LadyBiscuit · 06/09/2010 20:09

I have been pregnant three times and I knew every single time. I can't even explain it but I just knew.

triplechoc · 06/09/2010 20:23

I did. We'd decided to put TTC on hold for a bit at that point due to various reasons, after a few months off the pill 'seeing what happened' and I had an appointment with the nurse to go back on the pill. The whole time I was there I thinking 'I don't know why I'm bothering, I'm already pregnant'. To my complete lack of surprise got a faint line the day my period was due.

I'd convinced myself several times previously that I was pregnant, symptom spotting etc, but this was completely different.

Mammie81 · 06/09/2010 20:25

Yep, I knew! Had a weird feeling that was like I wanted something, but didnt know what I wanted! And my boobs were SOOOOOOOOOO sore.

SaorAlba · 06/09/2010 20:28

Nope. But I might next time - the constipation should have been a dead giveaway and if it wasn't my first I might have spotted it.

Adairbutdifferent · 06/09/2010 20:30

yes, I knew with dc3 (if you search my name - without the 'butdifferent' part, around May, you'll see my comments!!).

Oh, and we had a disappointing 'could be but wasn't' the month before which made us realise we wanted dc3!

Congrats (on the pregnancy or the possible exciting decision Grin)

ilovesprouts · 06/09/2010 20:34

i knew i was pg on the first day i missed my af ds is now 3.9

OmniaParatus · 06/09/2010 20:55

Yes, I got pg with an implant in this time and even though it was so unlikely I was pg I did a test just in case- and I was!

I know with my first pg from the time AF was due, and with my second from a week before AF.

Congrats to you if you are, do a test and let us know!

BellaEmbergsLovechild · 06/09/2010 21:05

After the moment of, um, conception, (after ttc for a year) I had a moment thinking "that's the one, we've done it" and felt absolutely certain that that was it, and it was!

whomovedmychocolate · 06/09/2010 21:08

Yes I knew. Both times I had a successful pregnancy and one out of two miscarriages. And funnily with the miscarriage I knew I was pregnant but it wasn't right

mazzystartled · 06/09/2010 21:08

yes, every time
from maybe 2 days after
confirmed by raging pmt symptoms a few days later
and then about 16 tests

Raejj · 06/09/2010 21:11

Yes. Both times :o Was just convinced and had long wait until I could do test over 2 weeks later!

ivykaty44 · 06/09/2010 21:13

yes I knew I was pg with dd2, I knew enough to book myself in to the doctors for booking in without a test. swollen parts and feeling odd about two weeks before I was due so I knwo alright Grin

Yep, told dh I was either pg or had the flu 2 days before af due! Had no reason to suspect, was on pill, but just felt 'wrong'. Also was sure I was having a girl, and did.

My sis was exactly the same, and when I phoned her to tell her (when only about 6 wks) she asked if I was before I said anything!

(spooky family lol)

Fleecy · 06/09/2010 21:35

I didn't know the first time. But the second time, we only went without protection the once and afterwards, like bella, I told DH, right that's it. That's the one. Did a test at 28 days (cycle usually 31) and it was positive.

naturalbaby · 06/09/2010 21:48

2nd and 3rd time i knew but more because i had a feeling i was ovulating. just thinking about that wait and counting the days till you can do a test to confirm Grin

Kiwiinkits · 06/09/2010 22:55

Yep I just knew. I told DH I thought I was pg on the day my period was due. How did I know? I didn't feel like going out running. At all.

ohnororo · 07/09/2010 01:49

I just knew. Took a test really early and it was negative, but I felt different in a way I'd never experienced. After about a week I felt like my period was coming and decided I was imagining things. Then a few days after that i felt nauseous coming home on the tube and I knew for sure. STILL got a shock when a test the next day came up positive. We weren't planning a pregnancy yet but I felt awe and excitement (and mild panic!) from the beginning.

trufflesbum · 07/09/2010 08:35

Yup. I fainted two days after I think I ovulated. I never faint! We've been trying for nearly a year. I tested the day before AF was due, and low and behold - BFP! That was 5 days ago and I've tested every day since as I can't quite believe it! (And I have a stack of eBay cheapies tests to use up!). I just knew this was the month, but didn't dare get my hopes up after so long trying.

auburnlizzy78 · 07/09/2010 09:08

yep, I knew. About an hour or so after doing the deed, I was standing in bloody B&Q of all places getting some paint mixed up and this little voice inside my head told me "that's done it".

Like the first time I met the man who became my husband - a drunken oaf friend-of-friend who came into my room at uni with the rest of my mates, collapsed on my bed and instead of being miffed as it was the first time I'd ever clapped eyes on him, I got that same weird voice "this man is significant".

I am NOT superstitious, and about as spiritual as a house-brick, but something funny sure-as-hell happened both those times......

Hobnob76 · 07/09/2010 09:10

Yep, I just knew too. I had back ache (never have back ache) and period pains about a week before my period was due. I was always hungry too.

BinkyNic · 07/09/2010 09:20

I had no idea, both times and it wasn't until I went into "oh well, it'll happen when it happens" mode that it did (after 9 and then 15 months of trying).
However I do have 2 very good friends who both said they just knew, felt different, but the lucky b*tches both got pregnant first month of trying!

threebt · 07/09/2010 09:49

I was unsure because I'd only recently come off the pill and didn't know what normal felt like any more. We waited five days after my period was due so that we could do the test on a Saturday morning when we would have time to take it all in.

But my husband knew -- he said: "You just seem pregnant."
