3 weeks to go and discomfort

Hi ladies,

3 weeks to go till due date and for the last few days I have begun to feel really uncomfortable, esp. down below, like something is being stretched/ overstretched. Is this a normal feeling? Is this because the baby is pushing down on the vagina? No Braxton Hicks or anything, just back pain, heavy bump and genital discomfort when I walk around. Just hoping this won't last for next 3 weeks!
Feeling nervous about the birth, too... but looking forward hugely to meeting little one.

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Dreemagurl That was my thought exactly! I'm at the hospital on Tuesday so hopefully they will do something because it's driving me mad not knowing what's going on :(

Good luck ladies :)

Oh watersprite that's ridiculous! So sorry you got fobbed off like that. Is there a GP at your surgery you could see? I think if you're really uncomfortable you should get it checked because you could still have 3 weeks or more to go and you can't put up with that if there is something they can do about it.

My LO has started doing a twisty downward motion every now and then which makes my pelvis crack in a rather disconcerting way! I can also now only do a comedy waddle, it's utterly hilarious... and matches my enormous elephant feet quite nicely.

Lolabanola, if you are still reading this I have managed to cure my insomnia. I was up 3-6am every night, but discovered that if I go to bed later, say 11.30-12 then while I still wake up to toss and turn I get back to sleep much more easily. Still not getting massive amounts of sleep but less frustrating than being up for hours. Been much better for a week now,

Hoping I might as well wait till Tuesday now as that's when I'm back at the hospital for my 38 wk check, was hard to even get that appointment as I'm consultant lead care.

I'm really hopeing that they will do something even if it's just to see what's going on or even tell me why I have so much swelling.

Hopeing that you start to feel a bit more comfortable soon, good luck :)

Morning, how is everyones discomfort today?

I have just a few days left at work! By thurs I will be the most preg I have ever been (dd came early-ish) an odd thought!

The week started with a hideous nights sleep and a cancelled train. Oh joy. Fair enough, no sleep is normal, but honestly, a cancelled train - enough to prompt a serious rant at this point.

Watersprite hope they address your concerns - if only by having a look!

Pins and needles - is it normal to have a lot of quite bad pins and needles and aching hands and feet with swelling? It was just at night but is now during parts of the day as well...

My boss seems to have just realised I'm going on maternity leave Hmm
