Hi folks,

I've got my first scan today, a nuchal scan. i can't beleive the dreams that i've been having..... they find nothing. I have to admit to being a bit scared. I know it's not invasive or sore, but i'm just worried about what they'll find out.

Good luck with your scan today. Its completely normal to be worried - after all the purpose of the scan is to pick up on problems if there are any.

But they are hugely reassuring, and an absolute delight to see your baby for the first time. The chances are everything will be fine.

Deep breath ... Smile

hi there, just to let you know i had ny nuchal couple of weeks ago, i am 40 and was shi*ng myself as i had to have amnio with DC1 and unfortunately m/c after, but this one and my DS were absolutely fine Smile. Its only natural to be worried but the risk is 1:150 before they start to do further investigation and that really is a low risk so try not to worry and enjoy seeing your bean on t.v Grin. xx

Your scan will show there is a baby there! And it is amazing! And I am so jealous, wish I was back there. Please relax and enjoy, is v special moment!
The worry will stay all thru your pg, cos that's just the way parents are.
Make the most of these precious moments.

Hello
I was really worried before mine too but odds are that all will be fine! Was convinced that they would see nothing and I had just imagined it all. But it was lovely.

I think most women are nervous before it but odds are that if you haven't had any symptoms to the contrary (eg bleeding) then baby is doing fine - that's what I told myself over and over again. Good luck and enjoy!

Had my nuchal scan last night. It was completely breath taking to see it all. She took lots of measurements; nuchal fold was between 0-9 - 1.2mm and she seemed happy with the results. She also pointed out the nasal structure (after me saying i thought it looked like it had a big nose Grin.

So feeling much better today, still gobsmacked.
