I have decided this is the pram for me.

Does anybody know if there are any offers on anywhere at the moment? Everywhere I have looked they are all exactly the same price and could do to save a bit if poss.

We got ours through Quidco and bought it from Very.co.uk.

So we got 10% off Very.co.uk for being first time purchaser (you need to set up a credit account with them but you can pay it off straight away with a card) and then we got 8% cashback from Quidco.

I think we had to get the adaptors and foot muff direct from mamas and papas though.

I bought mine in the August bank holiday with a 10% reduction, which isn't loads off but helps. I've looked on e-bay but there are never many and not as cheap as one would hope on e-bay. If you got a fair amount of time left I would wait, there are bound to be autumn and winter deals coming up. Ours was also out of stock and mamas and papas offer a 25% payment to hold/reserve pram, this may actually spread the payment. Good luck with your search Smile

I bought my sola at a local shop who gave us a discount for buying the carrycot, carseat etc too. It ended up being much cheaper than buying through mamas and papas or any other big retailer so would recommend trying your local mamas and papas supplier first.

Good Luck

P.S. I have been using this pram for my newborn and it's absolutely great!

Hello, I have just put my Sola together. When I went to the mamas and papas showroom they said it is suitable from birth (without the carrycot). The first thing I notice in the instruction booklet is that it is apparently not suitable until six months of age!!!

Given it seems to lie flatter than a bugaboo bee (suitable from birth) I am not too worried and not going to buy the carrycot, but this is the latest in a long line of annoying things about this company (interminable wait on customer care line, under cot storage which did not fit together properly, delays in sending out in stock items etc etc). Thank goodness I don't ever need to order anything from them again!!

PickleSarnie · 10/09/2010 17:08

Really Emo76?! I haven't bought the carrycot either for the same reason. I can't say I'm surprised though that mamas and papas claim one thing and say another. I am so glad I don't have to give another penny to them now that I've eventually got all my bits and pieces. I had to order the adaptors and the footmuff direct from mamas and papas as opposed to very.co.uk and even though they never said the muff was out of stock on their website I had to wait 2 months because they said it was out of stock whenever I managed to get through to the call centre. Getting through to their call centre was a nightmare. I'd wait from 20 minutes, someone would pick up but there would be nothing but background noise on the end of the line. This happened several times. and I almost lost the will to live.

The assistants in the stores were just as bad. Impossible to attract their attention since they were far too busy gossiping in the corner. Although the manager at the Birmingham store was absolutely brilliant.

Sorry, this didn't mean to turn into a rant about mamas and papas. I really like the Sola so far!!

Emo76 · 11/09/2010 10:26

I like the Sola too but agree Mamas and Papas customer care is appalling and their website does not reflect actual delivery/availability. I too had issues with footmuff and car seat adaptors, as well as double charging for postage and an under cot storage draw which does not fit together properly. I can feel my blood pressure rising so I'll leave it there....!!!

Page 3 of the Sola instruction booklet clearly says the seat unit isn't suitable until 6 months. As I said I am ignoring that and not stumping up £100 for a carrycot which I know full well baby will grow out of before she is 6m old anyway.

mrsflux · 11/09/2010 11:12

our buggy says the pushchair bit isn't suitable for under 6 months but where was i mean to put ds when he wouldn't fit in the carry cot any more???

think as long as you use the flattest position and don't leave then in there for too long then it can't be that awful. never did ds any harm - earliest walker from his gang of boys, fastest runner now (very annoying) and most confident climber (very dangerous!)

mum2oneloudbaby · 11/09/2010 20:40

That's very interesting. Fortunately I am using a local shop who has everything in stock. Also, their shop model had a sticker on the back of the seat saying suitable from birth but will need to look closely at this.

Not keen on buying another carrycot I already have one from DD and it's big enough to last 6 months.

Have just looked on M&P website and definately says suitable from birth to 15kg.www.mamasandpapas.com/product-sola-2-in-1-truffle/103589500/type-i

That's what is so odd - the shop tells you one thing and the product instructions another!

mum2oneloudbaby · 13/09/2010 17:16

Well Emo76 it seems to be fairly typical unfortunately. Having looked at it laid flat I don't think a carrycot would be any flatter. My main concern is the warmth over winter but with the footmuff, blanket and perhaps a fleece lining I think it should be fine.

I ended up getting the carrycot - felt DD was a bit vulnerable without it. Very happy with the Sola now it is in full use, I think it's (even with carrycot option) great value compared to the Bugaboos plus where I live (SW London) EVERYONE seems to have a Bugaboo and I like having something different!

pinkyp · 30/10/2010 00:35

Its suitable from birth (flat) and 6 months upwright. I got a aton car seat too and it looks great with this so will use this from birth. I bought mine from m&p and they gave me a discount so it cost £270 for pushchair, footmuff and aton car seat adaptors. My friend had the carry cot and only used it for 12weeks so not really worth the money imo.

If you can get to huddersfield m&p have a factory shop where they have loads of pushchairs reduced, i saw a sola £130 but it was pink (i needed green)
