Hi!

I'm pregnant with my first baby, and I think I may have had a bit of a labour false start...

Last night I started getting pains in my left side that eventually turned into pains below my bump and on my right side. This started about 8 last night and was still happening at 2 this morning! Fell asleep but when I woke in night the pains still kept coming, fell asleep again and this morning they were gone! I'm wondering if I'd have got up out of bed that maybe something might have happened??? Or was labour not supposed to start now?

Is my body getting ready? Could I pop at any minute? Or could I still have weeks and this all be just practise? Had mucusy discharge without blood at 35 weeks as well... maybe this is all wishful thinking because I'd like to meet my baby now!

If I were you, I would just call you labour ward and see what they say. They may want you to come in, they may assess you over the phone or they may just tell you its BH! How are you feeling now?

I feel normal at the moment! As if nothing happened last night - weird!

When I've spoke to the midwife in the past about Braxton Hicks and she tells me they are painless...

Braxton Hicks are painfull. I had them for 4 weeks with dd2. I could set my watch by them start at 4pm and stop about 11pm every bloody day.
