Can anybody recommend any good pregnancy fitness DVD's? I am 20 weeks and i have just cancelled my gym membership as i was hardly going so am thinking of getting a DVD to do at home + maybe starting to go swimming once a week.

hi there,

I did the same as the tiredness and morning sickness prevented me from going to the gym for the first 3 months.

I bought Complete Pregnancy Fitness by Erin O' Brien (from Amazon). It does pre and post natal fitness. I must admit I still haven't used it that much (a toddler and continuing tiredness seem to have something to do with it!) but it is good and the reviews are good- a good one if you want something that actually does something! I have tried another one that was so 'gentle' I didn't feel like it was doing anything.

I must start swimming too!!

Thank you, I will have a look at that.

I have also heard that yoga is good in pregnancy....but haven't done yoga before?

I have a yoga DVD "Pre- and Post Natal Yoga with Sue Fuller". It's okay and about right if you are are not super fit. I found it a bit easy the first pregnancy, but this pregnancy I find it about right as my fitness level has deteriorated. I do have to try and stop laughing when she suggests I get into the 'flapping fish' position as it is just basically lying on your side on the floor. Grin, but it is beneficial and helps a lot with stretching out my back.

do a search on Amazon for 'pregnancy fitness' in the DVDs section and have a look at the customer reviews to see what might appeal to you. I do like the Erin O'Brien video and also most areas have pregnancy yoga and pregnancy pilates classes, if it would help you to have a class to commit to, so have a google!
