cervical plug or normal pregnancy discharge?

I'm currently 32 wks pregnant with dc3. Yesterday when I went to the loo a very large amount of very thick white discharge came out. I've had a big increase in discharge throughout the pregnancy, but never this gloopy or this amount in one go. Could it be the plug, there wasn't any blood? If it was do I need to worry about it coming out so early? I don't think I have an infection, it wasn't an odd colour and it didn't smell. Not sure whether to call midwife or not. Thanks for any advice!

I've had this too, especially over the last month or so (currently 36+6) but been told not to worry. If anything it just means I have a more lubricated birth canal apparently. Nice!

I'm 30 weeks and have had a similar thing. My general discharge throughout this pregnancy has been increased, as they often say it will be. But these last two days I've had some lumps of white/clear sticky gloopy discharge. As you say, no odour, no colour, no blood, no infection etc.

I'm hoping its just one of those things, but not sure?

Am sure it is not your plug - I think you would know without a doubt and am sure it would be blood streaked too. I have had a couple of occasions where loads has appeared, have been told it is normal (oh the glamour of pregnancy).

The plug usually has blood in it so it doesnt sound like it is :)

Have heard quite a few times that plugs are always bloody, but mine wasn't. And it definitely was my plug- went a couple of days before labour started and was very obviously different from usual. It does sound like what you've had- I would give the mw a call in the morning if I were you.
