After yesterday's high I have spent most of today feeling very anxious about EVERYTHING. Please tell me to pull myself together and get on with it - its not like i havent done it before (maybe thats why i'm so anxious!) X

Pull yourself together and get on with it!

Only joking.
Whats up?

Mandymoo · 31/08/2005 21:49

lol - just worried that everything is gonna be ok blah blah blah. Also, started a new job 6 weeks ago (part time) and trying to learn ropes and fit in etc. Last thing i wanted today was to be at work with a bunch of people i dont know trying to learn a new job. But i guess it will take my mind off things for the next 9 months!

Magscat - by my sums i should be about 5/6 weeks. Going to see dr/midwife next week. I am a born worrier anyway but of course now i'm worried that my worrying is gonna damage the baby!!!!! AGGGHHHHHH!!!!!

I remember feeling scared at that stage with dd (baby 2) and being really desperate to get to the stage where I could feel the baby.

Are you more anxious now than you were with baby no.1 ? I was - I think it's knowing what you're letting yourself in for. Ignorance is bliss!

Mandymoo · 31/08/2005 21:56

You're right Magscat - i know what to expect now!! I wasnt really anxious with dd (not at this stage anyway) - just need to chill out. Roll on scan!!

Are you having an early scan or have you got to wait until 18-20 weeks ?

I paid for a nuchal fold test & scan at 12 weeks with dd and it did wonders for my stress levels. Really helped me feel better about the pregnancy. (I'd had some bleeding at 6 weeks & am 35 so more chance of Downs)

Mandymoo · 31/08/2005 22:00

Oh - do they not do 12 week scans as a matter of course now? tbh i will pay for it anyway cos i aint waiting any longer than i have to? Can i be cheeky and ask how much you had to pay? X

12 weeks as standard might depend on your area and circumstance - i.e. if there's a reason for concern you should get one. In Bradford if there isn't, you don't!

I paid £100 at Leeds Screening Centre. The scan picture shows on a ceiling monitor so you can see it really easily while you're lying down and the photos I got were better at 12 weeks than the NHS ones at 18 weeks (more modern kit I guess).

I don't know where you are but if you're interested:

I have to switch off now otherwise I won't be able to sleep for MN conversations going round in my head.

Will be back again tomorrow.

Try not to worry xxx

How's it going today Mandymoo ?

Mandymoo · 02/09/2005 18:34

Getting better thanks Magscat - i think a lot of it is trying to settle in at work. I dont care about that now - i just want to be a sahm and be with my family. Anyway, not so anxious at the moment so thats good.

Of course, i'll worry to some extent all the way through but atm its ok XX You ok?

I'm fine thanks. Working full time and surviving on about 6 hours (interrupted) sleep a night cos 8 month old dd does not want to sleep through yet (her brother did at 8 weeks - so she is a bit of a shock).

I think it's weird but a few years ago if someone had told me how disrupted my sleep pattern would be I would have said I couldn't cope but my body seems to have adjusted to less sleep. It's still horrible and some days are crap but it's not nearly as impossible as I would have thought.

Sorry - didn't mean to go on - just been thinking about this sleep thing lately.

Anyway. Glad you are feeling a bit less stressed. Just gotta take each day as it comes I reckon and rest as much as you can (ha ha some chance I know).

xx

Thanks Magscat - i could sleep for England at the moment. Juts wanna get my 12 week scan done and then i will rest a bit easier just knowing that everything is ok (fingers crossed) - thanks for your messages X
