Silly question alert - do you continue to wax 'down there' when pregnant? :)

I got waxed 5 days before my due date, to get the job done properly rather than by unartistic midwife with a Value Range razor. My advice is DO NOT EVER WAX WHILST PG, IT HURTS LIKE HELL Grin Seriously, it hurt about 5 times more than noraml!!

janski31 · 02/09/2010 13:13

I have!Smile there is noooooooo way I could leave it! There would be some serious screams of horror if I did ha ha x

janski31 · 02/09/2010 13:16

I have been having brazilian waxes... does that make me really brave?? Cos it does hurt but all I kept thinking is labour is gonna hurt a lot more than this! Its character building Shock he he

I've been making attempts at shaving but as I can't see whilst in the shower I've made a mess and only found out afterwards when looking in the mirror. I had considered some waxing but if it hurts that much I may not bother!

Vistana · 02/09/2010 21:58

Yes! I always go for a wax and being pregnant isn't stopping me the only thing is now to see if I am happy with it I have to look in the mirror :)

cardamomginger · 02/09/2010 22:07

Yup - have continued to be waxed. No way could I tend to down there myself - can't see a flipping thing down there any more. Haven't found it to be THAT much more painful than before getting preggers. Am going for one 5 days before due date for the same reasons as mustrun. Not planning on a section, but it's good to be prepared for every eventuality! Would far rather the lovely Charlotte in my local salon did it properly than some numpty came at me with a razor causing razor burn and ingrowing hairs.

PaigeTurner · 02/09/2010 22:09

I passed out after having a wax while pg. It was horrible!

Meglet · 02/09/2010 22:12

I did. Just normal leg waxes and bikini lines, nothing fancy.

goodlifemummy · 03/09/2010 09:10

I got a wax while pg last time and promised myself NEVER AGAIN! Almost had to get her to stop after the first side, but decided it would look too weird, but it was soooo much worse while pg - stretched skin and all that I reckon!

MumtoF · 03/09/2010 21:47

Just had one as am having a section (now 32 weeks) and will have another one a week befor section. Bit above the scar ( this will be my 2nd section) was fine as were sides but bit below, where there is much more hair did hurt, probably more than pre-pregnancy. I used Emla cream to numb the pain. I use a trimmer for the rest! I think I could manage a basic wax for holidays but anything that took a long time would not be good.

Applemuncher · 04/09/2010 15:30

Not a chance. Everything huts at the moment!

The thought of being au natural did bother me but I spoke to the midwife and she said it doesn't bother anyone even remotely!!

I will continue with the razor when needed, not really bothered about how good a job I do.

I'm just not sure being waxed (and in that much pain) does anyone any good for the sake of looking tidy.

Having said that, I probably should be bothered - my hair has reached gorilla proportions!!!!

nymphadora · 04/09/2010 16:30

My legs hurt much less than usual. I need my bikini line doing but can't find a salon who has a downstairs room as I'm now on crutches & can't manage my usual place!

Got to have bikini done before section. Have had dh shaving it but it's not v comfy growing back
