Is this normal? They said the baby was in a funny position so they were unable to check the heart and brain. Has anyone else had this? Came away from the scan feeling quite anxious. They are sending us a letter for another appointment for 2 weeks time.

Very common. I had to go for a walk and eat a chocolate bar, then still had to go back two weeks later.

I had this with my 1st baby. She didn't want to cooperate at all so I had to go back for another scan at 22 weeks. Easier said than done but try not to worry too much

We had to go back as the baby's stomach was not full and they wanted to check it was swallowing okay. The sonographer explained it was common but it didn't stop us worrying.
Went back two days later and sure enough the stomach was full.
I'm sure it'll be fine and look on the bright side - you're going to get the chance to see your baby again on the screen!

Yep, happened to us as well. She was not in a good position to see the heart, so they made me eat chocolate, etc. It didn't work! I came back a few days later and she still hadn't moved but they were able to get it in the end!

Happened to me too, couldn't get good images of the heart, so we went back a fortnight later. Everything was fine.

Natural to worry but really, it'll be fine :)

Me too last week, i have to go back in 4 weeks time for it to be completed as baby wouldn't budge after an hour and 2 walks around, they couldn't see the spine properly...

Like you i was really worried and anxious at first but i think it is quite common, just tell yourself how lucky you are that you'll get to see your baby again at the next scan

Good luck Smile
