bigger boobs in pregnancy

I'm 17 weeks pregnant and have gone up a size from 36C to 38C so far. How much bigger am I likely to get between now and Week 23? The reason I ask is pure vanity - need to fill out a strapless dress so it stays up! Please tell me I'll blossom...

I'm 37 weeks and I've gone up from 34F to 36G (although I think my back measurement has shrunk a bit in the last week since bump dropped). So I've not really noticed a huge difference. But my norks were fairly hefty to start with so I'm quite glad of that!

notjustalawyer · 01/09/2010 21:30

I had gone up two bra sizes by the time I was 18 weeks or so. I'm now 21 weeks and there hasn't been much change. I was also quite big to start with, didn't seem to make any difference!!

MyThumbsHaveGoneWeird · 01/09/2010 21:31

Are you sure you have been measured right geekygiraffe? I would have thought its more common to go up a cup size than a back size in early pregnancy.

geekygiraffe · 01/09/2010 21:58

@mythumbs: yep, can barely do 36 ones up. Have gone really wide across the back : ( Let's hope the cups grow to catch up!
Thanks all, may just have to tape myself to dress to avoid falling out of it...

I've gone from 38C pre-pregnancy to 38FF, maybe 38G on the left. But that much cup size growth is apparently not usual.

japhrimel · 01/09/2010 22:18

You probably won't change much from 17 to 23 weeks though - the biggest changes are 1st trimester, 3rd trimester and then when your milk comes in. The 2nd trimester is relatively stable, hormones-wise.

notjustalawyer · 02/09/2010 14:17

Argh, japhrimel, are you telling me I'm going to start growing again in the 3rd trimester?!! Noooooo!!! Wink

japhrimel · 02/09/2010 16:09

I'm dreading it personally! I'm 25 weeks and I think my boobs are on the increase again. Sad

geekygiraffe · 02/09/2010 16:24

Looks like chicken fillets, tit tape and creating a halterneck out of ribbon will be order of the day! Or maybe some 'I must, I must, I must increase my bust' exercises!!

I've gone from 32F to 34GG, and I'm only 4 weeks... If my boobs get any bigger I shan't be able to stand upright! Glad to hear I'm not alone in this though Smile

WhatWillSantaBring · 03/09/2010 12:46

Mine went from 32DD to 34GG in the first eight weeks... and like Japh, mine seem to be on the increase again. So you're not alone - in fact, I'd say your increase is pretty low so count yourself lucky!!!

WhatWillSantaBring · 03/09/2010 12:47

But sorry, OP, to answer your original question, mine stabilised at about 10 weeks and its only now I'm 24 weeks that they seem to be going up again.

mousymouse · 03/09/2010 12:52

the titty-fairy came around 24 weeks both times. from a b cup to c. then to d two days after giving birth and now 8 months on back to c.

nunnie · 03/09/2010 12:57

With #1 I started as a 32A so you can probably imagine boobs was top of my need list, I remained a 32A right up until a couple of weeks ago when I changed to a 34A.

I should say I am 32 weeks with #2.

So my experience probably isn't helpful as my boobs are destined to be small.

geekygiraffe · 03/09/2010 16:20

@mousy mouse Love the name 'titty fairy' and hope she visits me a week earlier than she waved her wand over you!
Thanks everyone...

lol@nunnie and japhrimel

i want my body back. i've never had large bra size. I started at 32a with first child nunnie. By second child i was 34b.

Now on third child my size has gone crazy. ive spent so much on bras this time, i'm just fed up, and nothing feels comfy. most days i ditch the bra because i feel so imprisoned if that makes sense lol.

i went to marks and sparks because theyve always had the best measuring service. But they've changed their measuring system. Apparently they only measure the back size now, and the cup size is measured on sight, trial and error. So there i was feeling and looking like a whale. Going through the humiliation more than 3 times during this pregnancy. Right now i am apparently 34dd. Personally i don't believe it, although i do get the best support from this cup size.

I;m hoping the size doesn't increase any further, because i refuse to spend any more money on maternity bras.

I'm hoping a lot is fat, water retention that will drop off. Because seriously im not used to being this big on top. i want my old breasts back please, as flat as they may be.

Applemuncher · 04/09/2010 21:09

I'm 32HH to start with so I hope the soddin titty fairy stays put and doesn't visit me!!!! Blush
