6 weeks pg and bleeding! Help!

Hi I am just over 6 weeks pg and yesterday I noticed some light pink discharge and didn't think too much of it, then last night and this morning there is more of it and it is now a brown/red colour, like you get towards the end of a period. I had cramping last night, no worse than normal period pains, which I have also been getting after sex and I don't have any pain now. Should I go to the walk in clinic or doctors or something?? I'm really worried now! Thank you!

go to your doctor/midwife, it could just be some spotting which is fairly common in early pregnancy, i had a bleed in my first preg around 11 weeks, it was just a bit of placenta seperation, if needing more help phone nhs 24

take care

I am sorry to hear that, but of course a lot of women have bleeding in early pregnancy and all is fine. When I experienced this I went to my helpful GP who gave me a variety of options - have a blood test that afternoon and one 48 hours later to check hormone levels rising; check my cervix (see whether open or closed), and when I started bleeding more, got me a cancellation app for that morning at the local EPU. He remained positive throughout, even though I knew the news would be bad because I just didn't feel pg anymore. Do you have any pg symptoms? If you are having sex, then the bleeding could easily be due to that. Good luck.

I would call or see your GP. Some EPUs accept self-referral, or your GP may prefer to refer you straight there and doesn't need to see you themselves.

I spoke to nhs direct and she said if it starts coming out bright red or if I get pain again then go to to hospital but to wait and then book an appointment with my doctors for tomorrow.
I haven't felt pregnant at all yet but mum said she was the same, no morning sickness or tiredness or anything, which is annoying as I want to feel pregnant! I did have sex the night before last and it was the next morning I first had it so could be that.
Sorry for you bad news Domestic and thank you both for your help, it has stopped me worrying slightly. Won't stop fully until I give birth no doubt! :o

You've probably sussed this, but don't have sex again!
