Hi,

I am due on 25th November this year, and am pretty sure me and DP are eligible for working family tax credits. Does anyone know how/ when to apply? Can anything be filled in beforehand or is it all done after baby is born?

Thanks

it all has to be done after the baby is born as you need an actual DOB to apply from. However nothing to stop you getting the forms now and having them ready filled out without the DOB so you only have that to fill in when the baby arrives.
can't remember if you need to send the birth certificate off as well or not, but you def need the birth certificate for child benefit claim form.

Hi!
You have to wait until the baby is born to even get the forms, I rang them to ask them for the forms about 2 weeks ago.
I was not impressed with this as I wanted to get the forms and begin filling them in so I don't have to think about doing them once baby is here! Can't help but think they do that so you forget as your too busy and don't get the forms in on time (can only be back dated by a max of 3 months) and meanthe government can keep the money.

you need to be receiving child benefit first as it asks for your child benefit number on the form...

if you do get it,you will get it all backdated..
