I was measured 3 weeks ago at 28 weeks, and today, neither measurements have been recorded in my notes. When I asked the midwife today how I am measuring, she said fine, I am never going to have a big baby, my build is too slight and my bump to neat.

Does that mean I am measuring small or am I reading too much into it.

My DD measured small throughout and was born 5lb 13oz but was healthy. I was under hospital care with her though for other reasons, so I was measured by hospital midwife and they recorded everything and sent me for growth scans a few times due to measurements.

I might just be reading too much into one sentance, please feel to tell me to pull myself together.

don't worry!
is your bump getting bigger? if so then you are fine!

FWIW i had a neat and tidy bump (till about 36 weeks) and measured average all the way through. i am 5 foot 2 and size 10 dh is only average height and build.

we had a 8lb10 bruiser! Grin

those tape measure tests are very inaccurate if my experience is anything to go by!

ask dp if you are getting bigger. he'll be honest and if its your first then you can ask mw again soon as you get pretty regular checks first time round i think.

good luck!

Your FH measurements should be recorded in your notes though.

Do feel bigger than I did at this time with DD. I am 5'10 and a size 10, so might be hiding him well.

She did say I won't be having an 8lb'r so I think I will hold her to that Wink

No FH measurements in my notes at all Confused

I am 5 ft 7, normally slim, I am carrying all front and neat, most people say i am small but i feel huge (maybe because i have never had weight on there?) I am always measuring a CM behind my week. baby is active and more so at night... so still a fair bit of room.. I am 32+5 so still alot of growing to me done which is lovely and good, but i am starting to worry HOW BIG WILL I GET???

saoirse86 · 31/08/2010 19:37

At 28 and 32 weeks I was measuring huge (predicting a 10lb-er despite me being only 5'2" and normally slim). Then at 35 weeks I'd gone down a centile so was sent for a growth scan. It turns out everything's fine, just smallish baby and lots of fluid. They should be recording it though. That's why I was sent for a scan because they knew I'd crossed a centile. How would they know that otherwise? You should check at your next MW appt about it.

I think, so long as they are not worried and get a nice strong heart beat don;t worry.

The midwife thought my little one was too small and I had a growth scan which showed that she was above average size! I am normally very slim, but think I am massive and worry about just how big I will be, if I am in size 14 trackie bottoms at 6 months... eeeekk! (I am normally a size 8!)

Not sure how they know if my growth has changed drastically if they're not recording it to be honest, maybe she is recording it and keeping it in her notes maybe? I really don't know, she does seem to write something down when she has done it, but there is nothing in my notes.

I have a seperate scan on monday for something else so I am sure they will spot if there is a problem.

This I am just being daft but that's nothing new for me.

is there nothing written at all in the FH box?

in mine there is '=D' which I assume means equal to dates.

nunnie · 01/09/2010 09:59

There is a chart which isn't plotted and there are four boxed under it with date of visit, fundal height, for growth scan and signature, all blank Confused all that is written in the notes for this visit is date, gest, bp, urine, fetal movements, pres, lie, eng, fetal heart and next contact.
