Anyone had IVF? Drugs question

I am 13w with twins after a frozen embryo transfer. I was feeling pretty good until last week when, as instructed, I stopped the progesterone/osterogen. Since then I have had non-stop headaches, my sleep has been shot to hell and I feel far worse than I did previously.

Has anyone else had a downturn after stopping the drugs?

Had twins (IVF) in my first pregnancy (am currently pregnant with No. 3 from a frozen embryo transfer). Anyway, drug protocol was slightly different 4 1/2 years ago and I stopped the progesterone much earlier on - I think two weeks after my positive pregnancy test - and I can't remember getting headaches afterwards, although I did have crippling exhaustion and rolling nausea until about 12/14 weeks. Maybe now that the standard protocol is to keep people taking progesterone for much longer there are bigger symptoms when you eventually come off them?

Have you spoken to the IVF nurses? The headaches and poor sleep could be just down to the fact that your body is reacting to the shift in hormones but I always think it's worth picking the IVF nurses' brains as they might have some magic suggestions. The chances are they'll just make sympathetic noises and tell you to ride it out but then at least you'll know that it will be relatively short-lived.

If it helps, I felt great from 14 weeks onwards. The grottiness disappeared literally overnight and I felt blooming and wonderful. I absolutely loved being pregnant with twins and it's a magic experience so congratulations.

I am 29 weeks from an FET. I took progesterone and oestrogen until week 12 then stopped all drugs (hooray!). i had had constant MS/vomiting until then and was convinced i would feel better when i stopped the drugs (hated the progesterone particulalry). i did feel better but not much i have to say and the improvement was probably psychsomatic. i didnt feel normal again until week 16 (but then i felt great). i have just started getting headaches and a quick google diagnoss suggests its down to changes in hormone levels which might explain yours also (or the beggining of pre eclampsia and imminent death but then any google diagnosis inevitably leads to certain death doesnt it so i am sticking with my first one).

i hope you feel better soon. it does take a while for the drugs to leave the system so i am not surprised you feel a bit rubbish. check with your dr if you are worried though.

finally, congratulations! it's brilliant news that the IVF worked for you. i hated going through IVF and love hearing these happy endings. i hope you have a happy and healthy pregnancy.
