i am 34 weeks pregnant and have piles which are really sore, i cannot walk or sit I have regular bowel movements and I am using a cream prescribed by doctor but it is not helping at all. also tried ice,and sitz bath. 1st time i have ever had them, cannot take pain much more. It has been one thing after another with this pregnancy which is my 1st and last. Just want my baby out now. Can anyone advise whether they have suffered same or what else I can do?

many thanks

have you tried germaloid suppositories? give them 2 days - trust me!

DonDons · 30/08/2010 19:24

oh, and paracetemol

kezza3180 · 30/08/2010 19:27

doctor prescribed me scheriproct ointment which I have been using for last 4 days but still in agony. haven't tried the germaloid suppositories. Did ask at pharmacy before attending doctors and pharmacy refused to prescribe any as I am 34 weeks and risk of pre term labour.

I will ask doc to try what you suggest, as I honestly never been in so much pain in. not sleeping either.

You can get the scheriproct suppositories as well. Get your GP to prescribe them for you. Also I have found the wipes with the ointment inside quite good. You can leave them folded in your bum crack. Does bring some relief. You have my sympathies. Agony.

Some women I know have had no further problems. I have not been so lucky and think I will need an op at some point after this pregnancy as they are always flaring up.

kezza3180 · 30/08/2010 20:27

oh I hope I am one of them. Oh dear that's not good at all.Think it must be the worse pain possible. Tell you men have it so easy.. How far on in your pregnancy are you bamboostalks?

38 weeks and had a haemorrage (sp) at 34 weeks so they thought I might go early but haven't. That hasn't stopped me using germoloids etc so I think that pharmacist is a bit overly cautious.

kezza3180 · 30/08/2010 20:49

not long for you now then anyday. it was thought I was going to go early too went into preterm labour at 32 weeks, then stopped of its own accord and was given injections to mature baby's lungs they still think i may go early am actually hoping I do now as don't think i can take much more. Been one thing after another, 1st they thought I had a pulmony embolism, then had sciatica, then the preterm and now this. Be glad when I have my baby in my arms. You will be too, you will have to let me know when you do. do you know what you are having? I am having a girl.

Wow, that is a lot going on. I am having a boy, was having twins but lost one at 12 weeks. Also having an eventful pregnancy with a haematoma etc so will be so happy to have this baby if my whole arse doesn't fall out first!

Good Luck.

DonDons · 31/08/2010 16:07

hmmn, well I am 36 weeks and haven't seen anything about preterm labour. IME they go after you give birth. Hope you are feeling a bit better.

Poor you!! I had these really bad in first pregnancy 28 weeks then went away then 34 weeks went away then after birth. Its really hard because there isn't much really you can do. Mine were caused by huge DS pressure he was 9lb 12oz at birth, but can be just how the baby is lying putting pressure on your bits. Try cold witch hazel on a cotton pad I got these after birth and they really helped shrink them. I know this is yuck but if you can stand it try pushing them back up inside it will give you some relief from the pain. This time round I haven't had them so bad only once so far and Im 33 weeks. Only difference this time I have been drinking gallons of water to ward off kidney infections must have helped with constipation too?? Good luck and don't worry about them at the birth you'll have enough on yuor mind. My MW said she'd never seen ones bigger than mineShock
