Hello
Was wondering if anyone can help. bit of a random one.

Just half eaten a poached egg before I realised it was off! It stank so surprised I didn't notice earlier! I'm 32+4 weeks preggers so not overly worried but would not mind some reassurance that it's not going to harm the baby!

I think the risk to the baby is minimal it is just that if you get food poisoning you are likely to be more ill than you would be when not pregnant (supressed immune system). I think the onset of symptoms can be up to a few days so make sure you see the GP straight away if you feel unwell (or maybe even call midwife today if you are worried).

Was the egg definitely out of date?

Thanks for replying. It wasn't out of date but think it must have had a crack in it and had started going off. It's probably fine, but making me feel sick thinking abvout it!
