advice needed - funny rash!

Hi ladies,
Realised after my shower this morning that I have a funny rash to the right of my boob/under armpit. Well, not so much of a rash, more a painful red patch a few inches square with some darker red marks across it. It looks and feels similar to a shingles rash I had a few years ago. Should I be phoning midwife do you reckon?

might it be a stretch mark?
Or very dry skin - I got a weird browny patch over my breasts and armpits when pg, looked very odd but I think it was just very dry skin.
Either way, if you're even slightly worried, see your GP.

Do stretch marks hurt? I can feel my clothes pressing against the area, which was what happened with shingles last time and made me think that's what it might be.

If it seems similar to shingles that you've had before then I would phone the midwife.

Surely this would be GP rather than MW? Suppose if you ring MW she will let you knwo

Stealth probably, but GP at the weekend generally means NHS Direct and they are going to tell a pregnant woman who has a suspected shingles rash to go straight to A&E, so maybe midwife as first port of call?

Well, I phoned NHS24 (am in Scotland) and have to go to out of hours gp to be on the safe side. Thanks for the advice people.

Thanks Ali, all fine! Nicest doctor in the world had a look, couldn't decide if it was shingles or not but gave me a prescription to take if it got worse over the weekend. Rash still there this morning but not as sore and generally feel fine so guess it wasn't!

I had a similar sounding rash but it was both sides and it turned out it was my bra!

Oh no Saoirse! That must have been for you! Rash is still there but not sore anymore - weird.
