Advice about being ill

I'm 31 weeks pregnant and have what I think is just a heavy cold. I'm terrified it might turn into flu as I'm sure I've read that having flu whilst pregnant can cause huge problems and have a very bad effect on baby. Is this right? Or can I stop worrying?

i think flu is not great when pregnant but from what I understand it's important to keep your temperature down so praps start munching on the paracetamol (you can have the dose on the packet safely when pregnant)

Hope you feel better soon

excited just to reassure you a cold doesn't turn into flu. You either catch a cold or flu.
Go to the pharmacy and get paracetamol, fluids and feet up on the sofa.

Ditto to what Tootlesmummy said - a cold and the flu are completely different viruses so you either have one or the other.

If you don't have much of a temperature, it's almost certainly not flu.

Keep your temp down and get plenty of fluids in you and it can't hurt the baby at all. It'll just be horrible for you!

i feel the same and have had a really bad day. feel headachy (not majorly) achy, queasy.
tested blood pressure and urine this week and all fine but was worried i might be coming down with flu as no cold symptoms.
