I've had cramps for about a week now, like period ones, I feel all bloadted and achey.

Is it normal??

Yes. With that and my sore boobs, I was sure my period was due. Happily it was not!

daisystone · 27/08/2010 19:47

Yes I got quite sharp pains which a lot of people say is implantation. It seems to be very normal.

So don't worry!

Yes, I wasn't TTC and I assumed my period would start anytime as it was late. DD is 6.5.

Thankyou, I do remember saying 'I felt like I was about to have AF' with my others but just wanted to check,

I'm a nervous wreck, I feel so attached to this little bean already :)

Yes, most definitely. Was the only symptom I had in fact. Convinced af was on way...

I am 5 weeks and have had loads of crampy, stretchy pains.
Hopefully it will pass, I feel like I am living on edge constantly!

4 days before my positive pregnancy test I was convinced my period was due. I had the typical period cramps, my really bad migraine started and I had a big emotional break down at the tax office. My period like cramps carried on for another 2 weeks after that.

Monkeytoo · 28/08/2010 04:58

Yes, me too. Really sort of achy and stretchy period type cramps. My sister had the same...

lolalo · 28/08/2010 09:03

me too, I swore my period was coming any day!

I'm 5 weeks and still have them, uncomfortable but not painful, the worst thing is sore boobs!

is lower back pain normal too?

onadietcokebreak · 28/08/2010 09:04

Yep they were so bad the doctors thought it wa eptopic and I had an early scan. DS is nearly 3 now.

DetectivePotato · 28/08/2010 11:58

Yes, first pregnancy I had it for 4 months. We took 3 years to conceive and when I had period pains, it meant that I would bleed that day. When I didn't I thought it was slightly odd but I looked on the net to see if you could get cramps and be pregnant. It said yes but it still took me another 5 days to do a test.

I am 16 weeks pregnant with DC2 now and keep getting 'stretching' and other random pains. I put it down to everything changing in there.

Good luck!

plasticspoon · 28/08/2010 13:15

Another one here, got them when my period would have been due for the first 3 months, also bad enough to have a scan to check not ectopic. 31+4 now :)

missmoopy · 28/08/2010 13:28

Yep, I did. Was convinced wasn't pregnant! She's now almost 6 Smile

lolalo - Yes, back pain is completely normal.

I have suffered back pain before becoming pregnant intermittently for the last 8 years or so due to a back injury. I had particularly bad pain in my leg one day and went to the doctors about it. After we'd discussed my pain I told him I was TTC and he insisted that he refer me to physiotherapy since it would get worse during pregnancy. I was reluctant but agreed. In the last month I have had 3 days where my back pain has been that bad that I have been unable to walk. I am now extremely thankful to my doctor for referring me.

My physiotherapist explained to me that all pregnant women experience back pain on and off during pregnancy and it is due to an extra hormone being released that makes joints less stiff than usual, this is what cause the pain. To make it better while sleeping try sleeping with a pillow between your legs as this reduces pressure and lines up the bones where they are supposed to be. During the day try not to stay in the same position for too long since your back likes change. So don't sit, stand or lie for long periods of time.

hoolabombshell · 28/08/2010 22:58

I'm just gone 15wks and get them still, every couple of days. No doubt just a lot of stretching going on. Feels almost exactly like period pains except it's not pain or cramps, more a dull feeling in lower tummy, sides and back.
Apparently completely normal.

StiffyByng · 29/08/2010 00:33

Glad to see this on here. Got my BFP yesterday and have been having period like cramps all week-kept taking tampons to the loo with me as I was so sure I was coming on, and had even got upset at the thought of another month of failure!

AmIGoingMad · 30/08/2010 19:00

I'm now 18+5 and had these particularly around 8 weeks ish. I was really panicked and went to doc who was great and referred me for early scan even though I hadn't had any bleeding. First scan was inconclusive as it was too early so i had to go back ten weeks later when they confirmed that there was a heartbeat and explained that I'd probably been experiencing stretching and generall moving around of everything.
It really helped me to hear from people on here who'd had the same experience so wanted to make sure i posted to give you the same support that I had! x

stegasaurus · 30/08/2010 22:02

I'm glad to see this. I got my BFP on Friday, and on Saturday night I woke up with horrible crampy pains and was scared something was wrong. I was away until yesterday evening, but when I got home I did another pregnancy test to make sure nothing had happened. Good to hear I am not alone.
