thrush for the 2nd time in less than 3 weeks - can I take caneston again?

Subject says it all. Had thrush 2 - 3 weeks ago and used canestan pessary/cream, which solved problem.

My fault - I took a hot bath yesterday and even while I was in the bath I could feel itchyness starting. I have super sensitive skin at the best of times and had been very careful showering since getting thrush last time and thought I'd be OK for a nice soak in the bubbles, but think the bubbles were too strong/irratating for me.

I've missed my GP phone in time for the day and don't want to go into the surgery. Can I use canestan again so soon? Anyone done it through medical advice? It's not like it never cleared up from before as it did go away for a period of time.

Btw I suffer from thrush every 6 - 12 months usually anyhow (due to sensitive skin) so I know this is definately what it is!

Any comments please :)

I did (when I was about 20-22 wks pg) as I just couldn't shift it! Used 2 pessaries within about 3 weeks as prescribed by GP and GUM clinic. Think I sent hubby out about 2 weeks after that to get another one from supermarket as i could feel it returning. All ok!

The quicker you do it, the better!! Its so horrible - I feel for you!

Oh, should I have mentioned I'm now 14 w pg.

Yes ginger - if it's something I can take again I'll do it tonight - I know from very painful experience that the longer it's left the more terrible it is!
