Just curious and interested really from those of you who went into labour early (before 37 weeks) what signs did you have?

Did baby drop early?

Did you get lots of Braxton Hicks in the week before you went into labour?

Any other little signs that made you start thinking you may have baby early?

Hi YummyMummy

I went into labour at 36+2 and luckily gave birth the same day :)

My DD was engaged at 32-33 weeks. I had a lot of tummy pains from about 33 weeks onwards, which I assume were braxton hicks.

Day before I think I was on the loo a lot (possible TMI).

I woke at 2am wide awake, ready to start the day, waters broke at 4am-ish. Contractions started at midday and gave birth just before 9pm.

Also, both my sisters gave birth 3 weeks early with theirs so I suspected I might be early.

How many weeks are you?

Hi iloveholidays,

Im only 31 weeks but the boredness has set in now and im thinking up all possible ways to hint at the chance baby might come early!

Silly i know but it passes the time! Grin

Did baby have to stay in hospital for any length of time or did you get to take baby home straight away?

you don't really want the baby to come before 37 weeks..

are you concerned about prem labour?

Hi

I was in hospital for 3 days, but only because DD was tongue tied and it took the midwifes that long to realise why she wasn't feeding!!

They had to check her blood sugars which took about 24 hours to settle, but if it wasn't for the tongue tie I think we would have been home after 2 days.

To be honest, I was on such a high I didn't really care where I was (luckily I had a lovely labour) :)

Is it your first?

YummyMummy1208 · 24/08/2010 15:44

No second, first one came at 39+5. The only thing thats making me think this one may come early is how different they were in my belly - first born was never very fidgety and active whereas this one just feels like she cant wait to come out!

Lulumaam - I dont want to go into premature labour altho i wouldnt mind when she came once i get to the 37wk mark. Just curious to talk about it thats all and to know what signs people had who had their baby before 37wks.

My DD was always very active in the evenings, although not sure if that had anything to do with her coming early.

We were very lucky with DD and was a healthy 6lb 5oz. I'm worried about going into labour early next time, however I don't think there is much I can do to stop it. On the flip side, I'm not sure how I'd cope with pushing out a big baby :)

Hope all goes well for you.
