35+2 and feeling "odd" - it doesn't mean anything, does it?

I woke up this morning feeling really strange. MUCH more tired than usual (despite only one loo trip in the night!) and generally feel really "out of it". I feel quite queasy and have a slightly dodgy stomach (i.e. poop not v solid - sorry TMI!). I also feel a bit headachy and feel like the baby is literally sitting on my bladder and weighs a stone... If it feels like anything, it feels like I have a bad hangover tinged with still being a bit drunk (I don't have a hangover, obviously!!!)

Please please please tell me that I am just feeling under the weather and this is normal in late pregnancy! I am writing this in work, with 2 weeks to go until mat leave and nothing ready at home... Please reassure me this is not a "sign" of anything happening on the labour front.

I really think it can't be - I have had no BH (unless a feeling like a stitch when walking fast is BH - I don't think it is but I do have that when I walk to/from the tube) and last week the head was free, not engaged at all.... it not, is it...?!? Confused

Baby is still wriggling around a lot, which makes me think he/she can't be getting ready to come out... or am I making that up?

Sorry you're feeling poorly. I'm sure for every person to have had similar feelings just before labour, there'll be someone else who didn't, IYSWIM.

For what it's worth, I had DD at 37 weeks and had period type pains and backache leading up to labour, with no BH beforehand. The only thing that possibly signalled she was en route was slightly high BP and swollen feet (but who knows?).

Why don't you pull a sickie and go home and rest up? I think feeling 'odd' at 35 weeks is enough of an excuse Smile

Lol legallyblond. Maybe something, maybe nothing but if I were you I would try getting things a little in order! With dc2 I felt a bit odd one lunchtime I threw up violently about 3 and had my baby in my arms by 7pm! Good luck. Let us know how you get on:)

legallyblond · 24/08/2010 13:04

Oh good lord Raejj - that is what I am worried about! I am quite attuned to how my body feels, so me feeling odd definitely means something, even if its just that I have been pushing myself a bit too hard and need to relax!

The baby CANNOT come yet (as if me thinking that is going to make any difference.. Wink)

I will def be leaving work early today! I am sure I will back feeling right as rain tomorrow...!

Although I have a new "odd" feeling now ontop of everything else... (tmi - sorry again!) My vagina (I never was cool enough to know all the other words for it!) feels like it got a LOT of sex last night. That sort of achy feeling. I most certainly got NO sex at all last night or in the last few nights... weird...

Oh, legally, I hope your bag is packed...

lucielooo · 24/08/2010 13:15

Good Luck legally!!!!

legallyblond · 24/08/2010 13:21

No - my bag is not packed, and it doesn't need to be becasue I am still at work, only 35+ weeks and the baby is not coming for at least another 2 weeks.... Hmm Grin

You can keep telling yourself that, legally, but has anyone told the baby?!

PacificDogwood · 24/08/2010 13:27

I do not think that what you are describing is necessarily a portent of things starting Grin - but: get yourself checked out by your MW/GP, have blood pressure and urine checked to make sure there is nothing untoward going on (??pre-eclampia, sometimes makes people feel weird).

Good luckSmile! And get ye packing your bag, just to be on the safe side (says she whose husband hurriedly through random things into bag after her waters broke bang on date and DS4 was born 4 hours later Blush)

Raejj · 24/08/2010 14:03

I had to get my husband to pack my bag for me at 245 that day as I hadn't quite got round to it. I didn't think I was in labour that early afternoon. Intact I thought I had food poisoning but mostly i felt odd, not wanting to eat and throwing up. Baby came 3 weeks earlyGrin

saoirse86 · 24/08/2010 16:01

OH NO! I wish I hadn't read this. I'm also 35+4 and have felt really strange today, not hungry, really sleepy, loose bowels, everything you've said except the baby's been very strangely quiet over the last couple of days. Normally I'm being kicked constantly and really hard.
I've got 16 days till mat leave starts and am not ready either. DP's just got home early and I think I'm about to send him to pack hospital bag just in case....
I hope it's just my body's way of telling me to get myself sorted! I'm keeping my legs crossed (well in my mind anyway, I haven't been able to actually cross my legs for a couple of weeks!)

Raejj · 24/08/2010 16:35

I'm sure you're all fine:) few more weeks and you'll all be begging for your baby to arrive Grin

Mummyofmax · 24/08/2010 17:18

BabyValentine · 26/08/2010 13:08
