Where can i buy large but nice maternity/nursing bras?

Reallyu need something supportive as I'm used to wearing underwired but I need in large sizes!

Need 36-38G (which I am atm so +2 sizes for nursing??)

Anyone got any ideas?

They are really pretty and sooo comfy. They are expensive but worth it. I am pretty big now (was an F cup before I conceived) and Hot Milk bras have been by best maternity purchase. They have about 10 hooks on the back so they grow with you.

Shop around as you can get them cheaper on Amazon /Asos / omline bra shops than buying direct.

I am a 38 g also, and have to say there is no way on earth I am wearing a non-underwired bra at any stage of pregnancy or during nursing. Mono-boob alert. Underwires are apparently now considered fine as long as they are well-fitting (e.g., as long as the wire doesn't dig into your breast tissue and sits instead against your rib cage). I buy freya and fantasie ones from john lewis - they are quite nice designs.

For nursing, I am going to convert them myself as I did with DD1. You can cut the straps where they join the cups, and sew in a bikini-type clasp that allows for easy opening.See here:

I dunno why but I just cannot bring myself to buy a bra from a company called hot milk. The name makes me go 'urrrrghhhh'. I think of curdled clumps. But then I am a bit strange.

I've looked at Hot Milk and it must be the sites I look at from their list as they are always out of big sizes but I'll keep trying thanks :)

Hot Milk only goes up to a FF cup so they'll be far too small for you. The only nice one I found in a cup size bigger than a G was this one. I'm a GG now so was looking for a HH but could only find a few H cups in M&S and Mothercare. I hope you have more luck. I'll be looking out on this thread for any others people know of.

Well I'm a 34J, and havent found anyware that does such large size undrewire nursing bra's.

By the way they aren't recomended for the first 3months untill your milk supply seatles down. I actualy don't think you'd find an underwired one very conftable when your milk come in anyway. I remember not even being that conftable in a non underwired one to start with last time. NCT do do some nice non underwired one's in larger sizes.

I didn't wear nursing bra's untill I got fittied at about 38week's last time untill then I just wore regular underwired ones while PG, they are find as long as you have them fitted right.

Even in the first three months, I don't see any reason not to wear underwired nursing bras if they are comfortable for you and if they are properly fitted (and if you can find one!). An ill-fitting one could presumably cause plugged ducts and mastitis but I would think an ill-fitting non-wired bra could do the same. A really well-fitting underwire should be nowhere near your breast tissue.

I found my underwired bra comfy even at the beginning, I absolutely hated with a passion the non-wired one because it made me look like a matron and also felt far too tight around my ribcage. I guess it's just a question of what works for you.

Bravissimo - they might not be the most beautiful, but I found that Hot Milk didn't offer me much in the way of support, though they were very pretty.

NCT have a good range and in some areas there are trained volunteers who will fit you.

I have 2 hotmilk bras and the first I had to snip some uncomfortable bits off and the second is very pretty and comfy until later in the day when it suddenly becomes immensely uncomfortable! The matching knickers are lovely though. I still wore underwired bras that sat on my ribcage and didn't cut in until my bump began to start right under my breasts and it became uncomfortable. What I have found more important is how the bust looks under clothes rather than how pretty the bra is and I found Bravado. They give fantastic shape, esp with the T-shirt bra inserts and are really comfy and there is no hint of mono boob. The hotmilk ones don't give me the most marvellous shap- but I have stand alone but very squashy breasts iyswim. I'm a 32 FF and was 32DD pre-pregnancy. The Bravado comes in small medium large etc, which might sound off putting, but it means they're shaped to grow with you. I wear a medium and it fits brilliantly on the first clasp. I have not changed clasp yet.
