Hi,

I'm 35 wks today, started having tightenings which really built up yesterday and ended up being monitored in hospital. However when I was examined I was told that my cervix were still long but are now soft. Was wondering if anyone had any experience of this?
Does this mean anything? Thanks :)

cervix going soft is a good thing, that means that its now starting to prepare, but it also needs to go short before you give birth so dont worry you should have a few weeks left 1st, i had what you described at 35 weeks too, had to be monitored in hospital due to getting contractions they gave me the steriod injection to mature babys lungs but after that, nothing happend, was infact 12 days overdue.

good luck hope baby doesnt come 2 early for you :)

Thanks Beckie90,

This is my second pregnancy and quite different from the first. I was told the same thing that I would need steriods if things start up again, they held off yesterday because I have hydronenephorsis in both kidneys and steriods can cause my immune system to be affected and cause infection.

Fed up now though as the tightening always seem to happen at night and can last for up to 6 hrs, so get really tired. Have been having them since 30 wks, but when I get them now they are more painful.

Hoping I dont go over with any luck :) x
