When do movements become kicks?

I've been reading various threads on movements and kicks - trying to decipher which I'm experiencing. I'd be inclined to say kicks, but everyone else's kick threads have been from around the 30-odd week mark, and I'm only about 5 months (I'm vague about this even because of the variety of dates I've been given). Anyway, if these aren't kicks, then I'm not really looking forward to whats to come - my whole bump moves, and its quite frequent. On the plus side I'm assuming the sprog is healthy and happy, and DH finds it entertaining, but crikey, how much more pounding am I going to be subjected to?

I'm glad I'm not alone - I'm definitely not skinny or underweight, so it can't be that. I went for my '20' week scan yesterday and realised that I've a long way to go looking at the other mum's to be there, but the doc did say that we appear to have a large sprog so maybe that's why I can feel so much already. Yikes!

Hey Fanny, I am def not underweight by any stretch of the imagination and I have been feeling proper kicks from about 19 weeks, some of them used to make my eyes water! They put the latest dates that you should have felt something on the websites so that if you haven't felt anything you don't panic.

Everyone is different! The only thing I will say is with regards to the continued pounding it just gets worse! I'm 33 weeks now and the baby feels like it's doing the riverdance in there sometimes! :) It's great to feel though as much as I feel like my insides are probably black and blue by now!

my daughter is just over 22 weeks and hers are proper little kicks now, before that it felt like bubbles and fluttering..

About 20 weeks for me. I'm now 24 weeks and the kicks are sometimes uncomfortable, depending on what's getting kicked!

FWIW, you have to count kicks from 28 weeks, so you would certainly hope to be feeling them way before then.

I'm 18 weeks tomorrow and I was feeling movement from 14+4 and I've been feeling proper kicks for the last 3 days (am getting them while I'm writing this). I don't get very many but just every now and again I get a few. My midwife wasn't convinced when I told her I was feeling movement at my last appointment but there is absolutely no doubting it. I get a lot of wind and this is very different!!!
