My leg gave way

Hi,

Wondering if you can help. I just got woken up by the postman delivering a parcel. When I got out of bed my right leg felt wobbly-I walked to the bedroom door and my leg completely gave way and I ended up on the floor. Have grazed/carpet burnt my knee and everything!

My leg doesn't hurt, not even pins and needles or feelng 'dead' like I've slept on it funny, any idea what could have happened?

Thanks.

I've partially dislocated my knee a few times - go down like a ton of bricks when it happens - but knew straight away it was my knee - so probably no help at all!

Your hip or knee could've been out of alignment in bed - the relaxin hormone can do that.

This happened a couple of times to me when I was pregnant - and out walking.

I think where all your ligaments etc relax it can cause it to happen.

my knee does it quite often, no idea why but I look like a right numpty when I go to get out of bed and end up on the floor!

Happened to me last weekend and I fell down the bloody stairs - at 38 weeks. Ouch! Be very careful, most of the time my leg/knee is fine but it can just give sometimes and when you're walking down the stairs, getting in or out of the bath it can be really dangerous. I've also stopped driving because I started freaking myself out about what would happen if it did this when you're trying to break or something...

Ah joys of pregnancy!
