Nursing bras

Hi

I am 31 weeks pregnant and beginning to get my hospital bag ready (we're moving house too so feel like I need to have that one bag packed and kept separate so we know where it is!!) Anyway, when should I get measured for a nursing bra? Surely I need to do this as late as possible, but when do your boobs stop growing?!

Hope that makes sense and it isn't too stupid!!

They will get much bigger after your milk comes in.

I would get measured for one at around 36/37 week, and only get one or two, as i had to get remeasured when ds was 3 weeks, as the ones pre birth where too small and so uncomfortable. I had to by another 3 at a cost of £70 odd quid (I have big boobs though Grin)

i got measured at m and s and they were fab, got a bra to wear at the time and she said i would go up 2 cup sizes when milk came in and she was right! they had great nursing bras that unclipped easy but still gace support so my unclipped boob didnt suddenly slough! i ended up from a B cup to an E cup before and after pregnancy .

I've been told 36 weeks.

I'd make sure that when you get fitted the fitter knows how much you've gone up already. Quite a few books & magazines I've read have said it's usual to go up a cup size by the 2nd trimester, then maybe 1 more before birth and then 2 with milk - but I've gone from C-G in 24 weeks so do wonder whether I'll go up more than 2 cup sizes when my milk comes in.

Buying just 2 nursing bras at first sounds good. I think I'll keep the labels so that if I like them, I can send DH back to the shop with the labels and he can just ask "can I have more of these, please?" - he'd get the wrong ones otherwise!

Carriwell bras are really stretchy so are more likely to fit. i got mine from Boots (online) and I always wear it in preference to any of my other nursing bras. DC3 is 7 weeks old and I seem to change size throughout the day, when things settle down I'll get some prettier bras( if I can find any).

I'm 36 weeks and bought a pack of two last week. My boobs haven't grown since about 24 weeks-they had gone up from a DD to a GG so I'm glad they stopped. I did some research but I could only find a few places going up to H cups, but no bigger, so I've had to get those even though I may end up bigger than that. Anyway, I would leave it for a few weeks yet, or more if you are still growing.
