It is your personal choice, by 12 weeks we had many clothes because family gave us gifts. I brought first little jacket myself at 16 weeks.
Before I got pregnant I always thought I won't get anything until last months but it is SO hard :)

I would advise not to buy too much until baby is here. Most people end up with LOTS of baby clothes 0-3month gifts for a newborn! We had so many things which we never had the chance to use. Also depends on how quickly the baby grows. My ds1 was in small baby clothes for months, 0-3 at 6 months etc so we needed loads of these. However, ds2 was in 3-6month clothes by 6weeks old Shock I would suggest just buying a few basics and a couple a really nice things, such as 4 vests, 4 babygrows and a couple of jumpers, outdoor suit and hat, oh and a couple of lovely blankets Smile

Doesn't matter really. As long as you have the basics in newborn size by the time baby arrives, you're okay.

If you buy stuff very early and then have a miscarriage it can be very upsetting to pack away the little clothes, etc though. I waited until after the scans were okay this time round.
