.. seriously, how can anyone think this is an appropriate comment to make?!!!! I don't care that it was a joke / not maliciously meant / lighthearted, do you know how shite it made me feel? Yes I am big, that's because I'm growing a baby, you halfwit. I have 7.5 weeks of growing still to go, and yes, it is highly likely that I will 'get even bigger' but that is no need to look so incredulous. How the hell do you expect me to look when carrying an at least 7lb baby?

And breathe...... sorry for the rant folks, just had to get that off my (enormous) chest. Thank christ I only have 3 more weeks of working with these idiots.

lol well i went into a shop today and another pregnant lady was in there, we started talking and realised that we are both 35 weeks .... and yes we both looked very big ... to my horror the lady behind the counter shouted out that we looked like "two great big book ends"! ... I wouldn't have minded but she was hardly a skinny minnie herself ... why is that when you are pregnan people think they can say whatever the hell they want to you?! I know I look like whale but don't need to be reminded, especially by a stranger!

I really sympathise. I have had the same sort of thing constantly at work 'oh look out, it's an eclipse' or 'pull up a bench'. Then there are those who would just snigger at me as I walked past...

Twats!

When I was only 9 weeks a friend came round and said 'if you don't mind me saying your looking very buxum and seem alot rounder'!! I hadn't even told anyone I was pregnant but I knew she'd guessed and she was dying for me to tell her. But the comments about my weight gain really hacked me off. With DD1 towards the end everyone used to comment on how big I was, granted I was huge but it's so annoying, they would never dream of doing it if you weren't preggers why do people pressume it won't offend you??? Idiots Grin

Glad I'm not the only one in this boat - the worst was at my last NCT class when one of the other mums-to-be said 'Oh you look like you've got bigger since last week'! Hmm Yes, my baby is growing - surely that's what they're supposed to be doing??? Don't quite know how she's coping with an expanding bump - it must be quite a shock to her!
