Hi all. I only got my BFP (or more realistically TWP) a couple of days ago and already I'm a paranoid mum-to-be :)

Can any of you reassure me?

For the last few days I've had a persistent dull tummy ache and a bit of an upset stomach. Did anyone else experience this kind of early symptom?

Thanks!

Is it tummy ache a bit like period pains? You do tend to feel quite a bit of discomfort in your tummy as it's usually everything stretching and moving for the embryo that's implanting.

Upset tummy, I think, is quite common too.

Congratulations! Smile

Thank you Wanderingsheep. It's exacly like period pain, not crampy but a dull ache. I usually only get period pain for a day on the day my period starts, whereas this has been going on for several days and no appearance of AF (long may that bit continue!!).

I had terrible cramps during my pregnancy with DD so much so that I kept running to the toilet to check! I didn't realise that it was normal.

This time hasn't been as bad, still crampy in the beginning but not as painful as with DD, or maybe I haven't noticed as much just because I know that I shouldn't worry!

Have had terrible tummy upset though!

I had constant achey period type pains for weeks. Spent most of the time doing paranoid knicker checking. Apparently its all down to stretching pains and the like.

I had that too- was convinced AF on her way despite BFP. Am now 13+3.

Hi Wombat33 I think we are both graduates of the May Bus - I am 4+3 too! Have also had odd pains. Mine are in my groin, and are quite sharp. They also all seemed to be on my left side. Panicked about an eptopic for a while but they seem to have gone now. Hope you are feeling well otherwise. I don't feel too bad except for being totally knackered all of the time!

Wombat33 · 21/08/2010 16:06

Hi Sloathy. Good to hear from you! Hope you are doing well and managing to get enough sleep. The tiredness hasn't really kicked in for me yet, but then I'm only really overdue for AF from about today. Thankfully the achy tummy seems to have passed - but that may be on account of dashing to the shops this morning before my in laws arrived for the weekend to buy some bigger trousers :) I am so bloated it's not true! Boobs a bit sore too but happily the sickness hasn't really started yet. Have everything crossed that I'm one of the lucky ones who doesn't get it.... somehow I think I might be hoping in vain on that score though!

Is there a grads thread for the busses on the conception page?

Phew! This thread has cheered me up no end! Am 5+1 today and have got the same achy pains you're describing. It's such a relief to know it's normal Smile Thanks.

Sparklywine · 21/08/2010 18:41

Me too! Am 4+1 and popped on for some research, as I am getting the dull then sharper period type pain in the right hand side of my groin like I do just before my period starts, so getting a bit paranoid and have also been knicker-checking as there have been slight signs of brownish blood (not much but enough to worry!) for a day or two now. As this doesn't seem real anyway it's all a big worry! No other symptoms for me, convinced tiredness has kicked in but I'm usually quite lazy anyway. Bit gutted not to be having sparkly wine with X-Factor tonight but have some non-alcoholic fizzy stuff so will pop that in a Martini glass and pretend. Thanks everyone, and congrats Wombat and Sloathy, this is weird isn't it!x
