I am 17+4 with my first baby and over the past week i have felt little bubbles/twitches in my stomach??? Could this be the baby or just my digestive system? As sometimes the bubbles do feel like they are higher up than where the baby actually is!!! I dont feel it all the time just now and again and some days not at all.

I have something similar, I am 17 weeks tomorrow. My first baby so I don't know if it is gas or movement. i would love to hear from more experienced moms as well :)

I was feeling movement from 17 weeks with this pregnancy (my first). It did feel just like a bubble popping, or a kind of twitching, in my lower abdomen. If it is above your belly button it probably is just your digestive system, but below could well be your baby! For me at 17 wks it was daily but only for a couple of minutes or so each day...

From 14 weeks I felt twitches and my stomach felt like it had butterflies or like someone was tickling you gently from the inside. After two weeks of that, I could feel the proper kicking. The reason I thought the twitching and butterflies was the baby was because it happened pretty much the same time every day (sitting down in the evening). I think if you know roughly what your stomach does when it's digesting and this is a new sensation, then it's more than likely the baby moving about. And you are feeling the pressure that the baby is putting on your organs, not the baby itself, so if it isn't in the 'right' place, it's probably kicking your kidney or something and making it tickle. When I felt the first real kick, I thought it was wind, but then I felt four kicks in succession and realised it couldn't be wind! At 31 weeks, I still get the 'bubbling'; feels like a bubble bursting inside sometimes.
