Finding a dentist for a check-up/treatment when pregnant

Hi all,

I recently needed to go to the dentist for a check-up and it was great to have my maternity exemption card :D

Just been wondering though, if you are looking for a new dentist (whether pregnant or not) is there somewhere to go read reviews of the dental practice?

Seems pregnant ladies often have a greater need for dental treatment and it can be kinda daunting going to a relative stranger who will be drilling holes in your teeth Confused.

Any suggestions on how to go about finding a good dentist?

Thanks :)

I would put something in your local area and see if anyone can recommend a good one.:)

Hiya podmumlet,

I'm a pregnant practice manager of a Dental Practice (also a Dental nurse) so I can hopefully point you in the right direction :)

NHS direct 0845 4647 should be able to tell you who in your area is taking on.

As for the reviews, unfortunately it's still word of mouth (pardon the pun!) but when you register with a Practice you are not tied to one particular dentist so don't be afraid to say if you don't feel comfortable with one particular one and request to see another.

What county are you in?

Hope that helps
