Someone please put my mind at rest and tell me I'm being silly.

I am oddly nervous about first NCT class this evening. No idea why. Doubt it helps that have just had 3 hellish days at work and had today mapped out as a sofa day (before 3 night shifts over the weekend, forgetting have to go out and look presentable and be friendly tonight. Large part of reason we're doing NCT is to try to meet some people who live on our area and maybe make friends (plus NHS classes full) but just not feeling it today!

I think you might be a bit nervous because any ante-natal class is "the beginning of the rest fo your life". Don't be nervous - remember every one is in the same position as you too, they'll all be there to make friends, and they will all be a bit nervous too. The classes are informal and designed to get the participants talking. You'll be fine!

Can you have a relaxing afternoon, a bit of a nap and face this evening refreshed?

We've been going along sporadically to a local NCT group and they're great - really friendly. Smile

Don't be nervous at all - NCT classes are brill and the stuff you learn there is only about 20% of the class - it's the chatting to people in the same situation as you and making new friends that is the real benefit of NCT.

Relax, enjoy the class and hopefully your mood will pick up.

We just had our first one on Monday and it was great, our group all seemed like really lovely people who had the same sorts of ideas and goals as us as to why they were attending the course. I'm sure yours will be great too and your tiredness will pass when you get there. To me it felt really exciting, being another tangible stage that we are in the home stretch - with baby not too far away!
