Should I be worried?

I was a tubster before so was told I probably wouldnt put on as much as slimmer mums in insulation etc, and Ive not really had much of an appetite. DP finishes most of my dinners now and I guess Ive just craved healthier foods, although its not been an active thing in my mind, just the way it worked out.

Anyone else had this experience or should I be way bigger by now? (Tummy has grown btw, face, arms and legs feel about the same, maybe a tad slimmer)

Oh, scans are all fine so I know baby is healthy. Just that I thought generally women gained about 5-10lbs by now

Dont worry about it - I didnt start putting on weight until 21 weeks. So was bout the same as you then it flew on. Am nearly 2 stone heavier now.(35 weeks) As long as the baby is the right size thats all that matters. best of luck

Really dont worry - I am 40+3 (sob!) and have only put on that much weight due to losing lots through morning sickness. Same with my other two and they were absolutely fine.

I lost 1 1/2 stone in first trimester and I have put 2lbs on since am now 38 weeks.

Lost more with my first but put more back on, was less than before I was pregnant at full term though and will be this time.

You'll be fine, if you are eating less then you are probably loosing from other places but the baby will get what it needs. My maternity jeans fall down all the time now as my bum and thighs have shrunk but I'm not buying anymore! Haven't measured myself but I'm sure everything apart from my bump has shrunk, had BMI of 35 at booking and am 5'5". Midwife said pregnancy obviously agrees with me!

I lose weight in pregnancy too- enjoy it! It's quite advantageous! After my first pregnancy I lost a stone from my pre-pregnancy weight. Just eat according to your appetite. If you can't eat a lot at a time just have smaller healthy meals more often.

MrsSnaplegs · 18/08/2010 08:36

I agree with Cinnamon and Mrs Jamin - I too lost a fair amount of weight in 1st trimester (10lbs) and have only put some of that back on, I am still half a stone lighter than my pre-pregnancy weight (I am 25wks on Friday) I have a huge bump and boobs but everywhere else is slim, I am also having problems keeping mat trousers up as they keep slipping off my hips Grin I was the same in last pg, kept the weight off whilst BF then when I stopped put on 3 stone Blush This time I plan not to put on too much after BF stops! Baby is healthy size nd weight on scans.

Thanks all, I have midwife appt this afternoon and I suspect she'll say the same!

Hopefully I wont put on double in the 3rd trimester! Wink

The baby will ensure it gets the nutrients it needs from you whatever you eat.

First 15wks I felt so sick I hardly ate anything other than mash pot, chips, bananas and crisps. I lost a stone and half (husband put on a stone finishing my meals!!)

up until 30wks of pregnancy I only weighed the same as pre-pregnancy so did put back on the weight i lost.

I now weigh 3/4 stone more than pre pregnancy and am 38wks today.
