No advice I'm afraid but you can have my sympathy. I remember those days of constant beige food well. I ate nothing but potato waffles for a week. And then it was super noodles. I can't so much as look at hummus anymore because I sickened myself of it.

It WILL get better!! How many weeks are you?

Sending get well vibes over the t'internet for you!

Julezboo · 17/08/2010 20:29

I know the feeling. Mine started at 3 weeks and I am now 14 weeks with no let up! I have had the odd day were I have only been sick once in the morning but the wretching and nausea feeling hasnt really gone away.

I have cried today. Lots. Because I am so fed up and lonely, I miss being a mummy to my boys. I am taking cyclizine and have been admitted to hospital once for a week.

Just wanted to say though, now I am 14 weeks I can tolerate more than bread and butter and raw carrots. I just had a big tasty macdonalds meal after no managing much all day Grin I still feel like I am gonna chuck it up but I dont care I enjoyed it!

How many weeks are you now?

Sufi · 17/08/2010 20:31

Oh god I feel your pain! Am 13wks, am just beginning to feel better but oh it's been horrible. I hate food yet want to eat the bloody stuff all the time; I'm exhausted but feel like I should exercise as am having the same 'arse-spreading' issues as you; and yes I'm pleased to be pregnant but I'm sick of feeling sick!

(Mind you, that rant helped! Smile

Much sympathy - won't be forever, eh?!

PussinJimmyChoos · 17/08/2010 20:34

9 weeks according to my lmp dates but 8 weeks according to scan....I have my moments where it is slightly easier at times than it was last week which is giving me hope, but then I get another wave of it and I just sob helplessly in the kitchen as I'm trying to prepare myself something

I have never cried so much since I had this when pg with DS...thing is, I can handle a bit of sickness when pg....but would like to just wake up, feel a bit green, barf and then be ok

This constant all day (and middle of the night) is really wearing me down.I don't feel like myself anymore and want to get back into the swing of things eg working, moving more, cooking (which I normally love doing)

Totally understand. I had "normal" morning sickness with my boys. This one though, I wouldnt wish it on my worst enemy. I am still waiting to feel pregnant. For the last 11 weeks I have just felt ill. I lost a lot of weight at one point because I was vomiting more than 30 times a day. Even my own saliva would make me sick. (I am at that point again today and its horrid)

It does get easier. Although I still cant really cook or stand in the kitchen for too long I am eating more and more different foods again. Just need to build myself back up.

I was awaje all night last night with the wretching and feeling sick, the vomiting came about 8am this morning and has not really let up all day. It sucks. I want to be "me" and I want to feel "pregnant" I have a bump and the spreading arse (but tbh I didnt have much of an arse before so that is welcome so long as it doesnt get carried away)

Eat what you feel like, when you feel like. REally really ice cold things help me, so lolly ices, I always keep a jug of water in the fridge to make my squash up with and ice cream is another I am eating a lot of lately.

Have you seen a Doc about taking medication for it?

I need to be honest with you, at 8/9 weeks was when mine peaked and I was admitted. I flopped into my doctors office and just birst into tears and said "I am so hungry and tired" I got sent straight to the gynae ward. Still have to face him again yet!

Julezboo · 17/08/2010 20:42

I have nearly a full box of lilliepops I can defrost and send you if you think they will help. I couldnt stomach them because I didnt like the taste x

NeedToSleepZZZ · 17/08/2010 20:47

Really feel for everyone going through this, I had it between weeks 6 and 12/13 when it started to fade. Now 15 weeks and feeling like a new person (still get tired quite easily though) so just wanted to say don't give up hope! I know some days it seems like it'll never end but it will and don't stop telling yourself that!

I put on loads of weight in the first trimester but have stopped gaining now and even though I have a little bump I look slimmer elsewhere. It's so easy to get carried away with the weight obsession thing but your body will tell you when you can eat regularly again.

PickleSarnie- I had the potato waffle thing as well, still got some in the freezer as they've lost their appeal now. Hadn't eaten them in over 20 years and suddenly had to have them... very odd Hmm

Julezboo- So sorry you're having such a rough time, you must be so tired! Enjoy what you can when you can even if it's macdonalds (and I say that as a veggie!).

PussinJimmyChoos · 17/08/2010 20:56

Aww Julz that's very sweet but I've got some on order anyway...am at the trying anything stage...but thank you Smile

I'm scared about taking anti sickness tablets though...I mean baby developing in first trimester etc...

I just can't stress how miserable its making me....am all anxious and don't even like DH going out in evenings as feel all freaked out about being in the house on my own (well, DS is there asleep but ykwim), I know its only temporary and DH is understanding but blardy hell...

Julezboo - know exactly what you mean about waiting to feel pregnant. People keep congratulating me and get met with a slightly cross look from me and an 'yes, well, it's early days' - I look about as unhappy about being pg as it's possible to get (even tho, deep down, I am happy, just soooo tired of feeling like this)

Julezboo · 17/08/2010 21:17

I was too, I had regular scans though every two weeks and despite me shrinking, baby was ahead of schedule at each scan! My due date has moved forward by a week. So baby is just fine. I take cyclizine, which is a fairly common drug to take in the first tri, they did give me stemetil as well but i refused to take that as it wasnt proved safe in pg.

All I can say is use th etime on your own to sleep. Thats what I do. I am a bit anxious leaving the house though, am still to get over that. Left the house around 4/5 times in the last 11 weeks, only 2 of them alone.

PussinJimmyChoos · 18/08/2010 13:56

Am really shocked they gave you a drug that wasn't proved safe in preg Shock

This is what worries me about taking anti sickness drugs....sort of tempted to ride it out but on the other hand, if I don't start to feel better by next week, I can't see what option I'll have. There is a limit to how much DH can carry the load - and he's been so good, bless him. Having DS in nursery full time is helping but I do feel very guilty because he starts school in Sept and I was hoping to use the last few weeks of my non working days to do fun stuff with him Sad

pussinjimmychoos sending anti-sick thoughts your way to feel better soon. If it helps mine was worse 8 - 9 weeks but then was up and down instead of down all the time. Now 13 weeks and (fingers very firmly crossed) it seems to be wearing off a little. I think it's really hard for people who have only suffered from 'normal' morning sickness to understand as they think you can just eat a ginger biscuit every now and again and it'll be fine - it really isn't like that!

Drugs wise the first port of call for lots of people seems to be avomine, which is an older drug and has been used in pregnancy for years, so don't worry about harming your baby. I've been on meds since week 5 (that's nearly 9 weeks non stop all through first trimester). I was moved onto cyclizine as first one wasn't working for me, and lots of people seem to have this in pregnancy.

Sympathise with julezboo with hardly going out of the house - I've been the same and I'm now desperate to get out to get some bigger underwear as I'm squeezing into mine!!

I really hope it gets better for all of us very soon.

PussinJimmyChoos · 18/08/2010 18:46

Saw doctor this afternoon....she was a bit crap to be honest...I don't think they really have any idea of what all day sickness is like....she suggested ginger
(ffs!) and 'eating last thing at night to line stomach'...as if I hadn't already tried all that shit!

She them mentioned Stemetil and I was like Hmm as remembered it was mentioned here and I said its not safe and she said oh I'm not going to prescribe it. She then prescribed Avomine...apparently its an Anti histimine. Anyone tried it? Am going to google it and start a different thread about it but just wanted to see if anyone on here had taken it also

Blush Just realised Avomine has been mentioned here! duh!

Puss, we must be due around the same time- my due date is 24 March, what's yours?

It's not getting any easier here either, to top it off DS had a total meltdown at bedtime today too for some reason - think he may have now gone to sleep.... Finally! I took him to soft play this morning and dry retched all the way there in the car - any one who saw me must have thought I was mental!!

Bought 5 packs of chicken supernoodles today... Blush

PussinJimmyChoos · 18/08/2010 20:03

Loz - 23rd March Grin Although I suspect it will be later as I was scanned the other week at EPU and I am a week behind dates so technically 40 weeks according to scan would be 30th March but 23rd according to LMP...

I am v impressed you took your DS to soft play! No way I could manage it.

I had KFC tonight Blush was so hungry after Drs and I knew I'd be feeling very sick if I waited to get home and for something to cook...

OP posts:
Julezboo · 18/08/2010 20:28

mm KFC!

I had chip butties again and DH bought home 5 pot noodles from the shop Blush

Have heard lots of people using avomine, cyclizine is a antihistimine as well I think.

angels1 · 18/08/2010 20:44

when I took avomine puss it made me reeeeaaalyyyyyy drowsy. I'd take that over sickness any day, but thought it good to warn. Maybe try it first in the evening so it doesn't matter so much if you nod off. Hope it works for you, I know it's great for some people, not me tho sadly.

BeanInMyBelly · 19/08/2010 11:00

Hey everyone I am new to the site. Started googling when I got into work this morning as feeling really rubbish and down today. 11 wks (from LMP) yesterday, had first midwife app. this morning but it was cancelled as she was off sick, so now have to wait for her to call me. So disapointed. I too have been feeling really sick, I have yet to physically vomit, instead from the moment i wake up to the moment i go to sleep i feel sicker than i have ever before in my life! Hate the thought of any food in general, but at the same time all i think about all day is what i'm going to eat next as its the only thing that can ease the sickness - although even then some foods make it worse 5 minutes after eating it! Sorry for the moan, was just looking forward to getting a bit more information, and a date for my 12 week scan. xoxo

Lozario · 19/08/2010 20:09

Puss - soft play is GREAT because it's like one giant mattress - I just lie there groaning whilst he scampers about playing!!! He gets SO BORED with our house, we go out most days. I wheeled him back from my friends house today retching as I went! (the pigeon poo under the train bridge near our house set me off that time!!)

Bean - hiya - is this your first pregnancy? This is my second, and with the first I gradually stopped feeling sick from about week 13 onwards. I'm counting the days!!!!!!! Congratulations though :)
