Am off sick atm with awful preg sickness and am on my laptop more as a result...I always put it on a cushion but DH commented tonight on possible dangers to the baby...

What do we think? Have googled and it does say radiation levels on modern latops safe etc etc but still..

My baby would be broken if that were an issue. I am the wifi queen :) Don't worry I think

oh dear I sincerley hope they are ok as i'm sat here typing this on my laptop at 26 weeks pregnant! hadn't given it any thought until now lets hope a pregnant computer whizz turns up soon with the answer

Overheating - for you or the computer - would be more a problem I think. Putting a laptop on a cushion can cause it to overheat as fan ducts get blocked, but putting it straight on your lap could warm your bump quite a bit. I've got a Belkin lapdesk, but there are loads of similar options available.

Avoiding wireless would be tricky these days. And low levels of radiation are around all the time - some comes from space!

pussinjimmychoos I've been on my wifi on my laptop non stop for weeks and weeks....sure it's fine. Hope you feel better soon and I did read that using computers can make pregnancy sickness worse for some (if it helps). Nothing to do with radiation though, think it's more the light/picture of the screen that makes some people feel worse.

Im sat here 39 weeks, with net book on cushion. Have been warned by dh to not cover the fan so I dont break computer.

I wouldnt get paranoid about radiation etc... Im only using a cushion as resting laptop on bump isnt very stable/comfy!
