Have got food poisioning and can't keep anything down (even water). Is there anything I can take / do to help?

Am 26+1. Worried it might start to get to be a prob for the baby.

I would ring your midwife if I were you.

call midwife - may mean a stay on the antenatal assessment unit to get fluids into you via IV.... hope you're ok soon x

Hi Pennies
Got food poisoning during second trimester. Went to casulty dept. Put me on IV antibiotics and a drip. Dehydration is the biggest worry. They may also give you an injection to stop you being sick if your still not keeping any fluids down. Baby was absolutley fine though do try not to worry! Mrow

I had gastroenteritis and wound up in hospital w/drip. They also gave me an injection to stop the vomitting - I was to the point of retching blood.

Ring the midwife or NHS 24/Direct. They may also advise you if you can take anything.
