I keep being told I look great. Sorry, feel terrible saying that, but I do, by everyone. I feel great though. Feel bad but just being honest.

HelenEmjay · 27/08/2005 12:49

Oh no! im glad you look good!!! - honestly! i just wish i could say the same, this is my third and last baby, and i have to say the other pregnancies i didnt 'glow' as such but i sure as hell didnt look this bad! i feel about 14 again, my fella said the other day when i suggested i dash upstairs and try and sort my hair out and make-up, he just replied 'why bother? - you cant polish a turd!' - LOL he was joking bless him but he got a punch in the ribs all the same! hahahaha! they do say that if you are having a girl you look worse because girl take there mothers looks away during pregnancy - apparently! - that would be nice as i have 2 boys already! Ive got to the point now where i just resort to wearing a bag on my head! its a FAR better look for me right now! LOL!!!

Oh bless you! How far in are you?

sweetkitty · 28/08/2005 11:02

I look like a sack of s* this pregnancy and last, my hairs really lank and greasy, have spotty teenage forehead right now and my skin is really greasy.

They do say that if it's a girl she steals her mothers looks so you look bad during pregnancy but with a boy you glow, don't know how much truth there is in it.

SenoraPostrophe · 28/08/2005 11:04

it varied for me depending on the stage of pregnancy - can't really remember which bits did what though.

the best bit was not having to wash my hair very often.

flamesparrow · 28/08/2005 11:08

My hair stops being greasy during pregnancy, but other than that, I just tend to look bigger than normal... no real blooming and glowing (unless I've been throwing up, then I glow)

HelenEmjay · 28/08/2005 14:05

Hahaha im glad im not on my own then! Im 36 weeks Thomcat, how many weeks are you? - i think its great if you look good during pregnancy and people compliment you! - so far with this pregnancy i realise how bad i look as most of the time people ask me 'are you ok, you look abit..... tired!?' lol!!! well anyway we dont know what sex this baby is so we will find out if there's any truth in the sayings in a few weeks, as i said i didnt look great with my other 2 but i sure as hell looked better than this and they were both boys, so we'll see! In the mean time, i will avoid venturing out into the public! xx

I know how you feel, with my first i was awful, i was chalk white and had huge red sport all over my face my hair went everywhere was greasy straight after it was washed i never felt so awful in my life - sorry to say it was a boy though.
This time around i have felt abit better have bouts of spots not very many though and my hair is probably the best it has been.
As i didnt bloom the last time im thinking that i maybe just got a double helping this time, which has helped me look almost human!!

babyonboard · 30/08/2005 16:39

hi everyone
did you all enjoy the long weekend?

i can totaly sympathise with you guys that are twiddling their thumbs at home, but as others have said- we should be enjoying these last few weeks before the babies take over!

i had the craziest day yesterday..it was so hot, and i was persuaded by my dp to go out to the notting hill carnival. my cousin lives right in the thick of it, so he collected us in his car so i wouldn't have trouble walking across london.

we met up with a few friends, and i had fun dancing my ass off and waching them get amusingly drunk. i was relieved that it wasn't as crowded as in previous years, as i was a bit worried about getting bump pushed and shoved around, but people were very lovely, making space for me to dance, and total strangers buying me bottles of water! so nice..
then the journey home was hell! we had been to my cousins for a bbq to round the day off so it was 2am and we had to get a night bus. we waited whilst four or five drove straight past packed full, and then one finallly stopped
The driver was an utter lunatic! he was driving through red lights, swerving into oncoming traffic , swearing and manicly laughing. then he started yelling racist abust at my friend and some other gutys squashed in next to us. this made others join in yelling at him and he pulled over and shouted for them to get off. as they did, he closed the door on them, trapping one guy and splitting up their group by driving off. they kept on shouting and when he eventually let them off (and we took the opportunity to escape and wait for a sane driver!) he swerved the bus towards them on the pavement, apparantly trying to run them over.
my god..had i not been so bemused i would have taken his details and reported him to london transport
where the hell did they find this guy?
this left us all pretty shook up, and as my friends were looking at the map to see where we were, some drunk guy stumbled right into me, elbow straight into my stomach, shoving me backwards into the wall..he then just composed himself and strated to walk off..not a word of sorry
as i was so flustered, and 'bump protective' i was really angry and shouted at him to say sorry, he turned around and laughed, so i launched myself at him, pummeliing his chest with my fists.
oh my god! i have never done anything like it and it was so stupid as who knows how he could have reacted!
fortunately my friends and dp stepped in and calmed me down, and he apologised, said he was very drunk and hadn't even noticed i was pregnant
argh
i blame the hormones..i'm turning into a psycho!
phew that was a long post ..but just thought i'd share my mad day with you all..hehehe

babyonboard · 30/08/2005 16:41

ooh sorry ladies..that was meant for due in nov..a tad off topic! hehehehe

edodgy · 30/08/2005 17:00

No I look Like SH*T! In my last pregnancy with dd my hair and skin did improve, this time (its a boy!) my hair is dry, my skin is dry and i feel like crap as well lol. Im 27 weeks pregnant by the way.

babyonboard · 30/08/2005 17:13

my friends all say i look great, but it's their job to!
i have awful skin..it's either spotty or very dry..and as i have been almost housebound i have no hint of a tan this summer to cover it up!
my hair was very dry in the first trimester, and is now greasy..i need to wash it every day without fail or i look awful! (though that could be due to the heat and humidity in london)
i have also been carefully applying coca butter and vitamin e oil to bump, boobs and bum to try and avois stretchmarkls which has worked so far..except the other day dp noticed 5 angry red ones on the back of my knee of all places! asnd i havent even gained weight on my legs..very odd!
it won't last long though ladies!

HelenEmjay · 31/08/2005 11:06

Thats true babyonboard! i think i have been spoilt to be honest, i know it sounds so up myself, but i usually have really nice shiny hair and its easy to do, but now, its exactly like straw! its so messy and rough looking, and i have the most bloody awful memory too! im a brainless, spotty, wire-haired wreck! and to top it all off, the last couple of days i've developed a major grumpy-ar*e attitude! i just moan and get grumpy and snap at people! my poor kids! my poor dp - he's beggining to think i've been posessed instead!
