Had three shows and some period pains - is baby close?

Hi first timer alert! I had three (what I believe to be) shows - TMI - blobs of white/cream discharge (no blood) about the size of a 50p piece in the space of 24 hours.

Does this mean that baby is closer than if I had only had one (I am 37 + 5) or am I getting ahead of myself?

I also had what felt like quite bad period pains for a couple of hours last night but they then disappeared and have only had a couple this morning.

Please help!

Hello,
I think you may be getting ahead of yourself. Apparently it can still be weeks before a baby makes its appearance after a show (or several of them).
The period pains are more promising though as according to my midwife they show that your body it getting ready. But, just to put another downer on you (sorry!). I had them at night for about 2 weeks before i went into labour with my first.
That all said, i'm 38 weeks with my second, and have the same symptoms as you, so i really hope i am wrong! I'm fed up with all the backache and pains now!
Good luck with the rest of your pregnancy - hope it all happens nice and quickly for you.

Thanks Karin

I haven't been ignoring you - just turned out things were happening! Had another two shows which were slightly red - went in for monitoring and tunrs out baby was on it's way! Born on 18th at 38+2.

Many thanks for your advice!
