Little bit of a panic!

Hi Ladies

I'm having (what I hope is an irrational) panic and would be very grateful for any words of wisdom!

A colleague who I sit next to told me last week that she would be having some minor surgery (didn't say what) and that it involved having some kind of radiation therapy. She said she had been told that she needed to avoid sustained contact with anyone for a couple of weeks, and in particular with pregnant women (ideally for 4 weeks). She had the treatment last Thursday.

Then today she turned up in the office saying that she had just popped in to pick some things up. She was only around for 15 mins tops, and after 10 I (as discreetly as possible!) went and worked elsewhere but she was sitting right behind me.

I'm 26 weeks pregnant - she knows I'm pregnant which is why she mentioned the treatment to me in the first place. She was meant to be working from home for the first 2 weeks, but this is now only 1 week after her treatment.

Do you think I need to worry? I am normally fairly relaxed about things but given she did tell me she was meant to stay away from pregnant women in particular I am a bit nervous now.

It was only 10 mins or so, and obviously there is not much I can do about it now, but would be grateful for any thougts you may have on whether I'm fretting over nothing!

Thanks!

It's prolongued, intimate contact that she needs to avoid so you should be safe unless you were kissing. Try not to worry.
