Newly pregnant & scared after previous losses

I found out on Saturday that I'm expecting again. Was a bit of a shock as we hadn't been trying, I only did the test cos when I checked my diary my periods had started every Friday every 4 weeks regular as clock since I got my periods back.
I'm 5 weeks now and was OK about it at the weekend but now I'm stressing out about it. In the last two years I've had 1 ectopic, 1 mc & 1 mmc all with weeks of pain & bleeding before diagnosing or it happening.
I'm due to have an early scan on Friday next week but I'm so scared it will all go wrong again and I'm not sure I could cope with that again.

Hi MrsEagle,

So sorry to hear about your losses Sad - pregnancy post mc is such a rollercoaster of emotion. It is totally understandable that you'll feel stressed about this.

I guess at the scan next Friday you'll be 6 weeks, in which case you probably won't see a heartbeat, but they should be able to see the sac and maybe the fetal pole - hopefully that will offer some reassurance that it is developing normally - and hopefully you can then get another scan two weeks after when you'll see the heartbeat. I had early scans after my mmc earlier this year and it did help reassure me, although I guess post mc it is hard not to worry.

Are you getting much support in RL? There are lots of lovely ladies on MN who have experience of this, if you'd like there is a thread for handholding and general support for pregnancies post mc - I'm just going to go find it and post you the link.....

Congrats on your pregnancy and it's ok to be scared, big hugs,

GLB
