I had clomid to get pregnant with dc4. (after trying for over 2y). 1st round with the clomid - it did not work - no ovulation. I was so dissapointed and thought that was it - no more kids for us then.
The fertility clinic advised to try double the dose - the following month - which I did - and a scan showed I was producing 2 eggs that month.
we dtd on the correct days (as advised by clinic!), and I got pregnant straight away!

Hurrah!
I did have a rough pregnancy with much unexplained bleeding - (perhaps I'd been pregnant with twins and lost one early on?).
I had a son - born by c-section (due to unstable lie - breech/transverse). He's just gorgeous (as are our older 3 children).

We have now found ourselves pregnant again (a surprise!) without clomid this time. Hoping it goes smoothly.
I had progesterone supplements and baby aspirin with the clomid pregnancy (because I had previous unexplained miscarriages) - and my dr has prescribed those for me again with this surprise pregnancy in the hopes it will give the pregnancy a good chance.

I think if you do get pregnant with clomid - the pregnancy has a good chance of working out well as you get a good quality ripe egg from using clomid!

I think clomid is a fab drug - sorts out all sorts of fertility issues.

Good luck! Smile

I have PCOS and took 3 rounds of clomid to get pregnant with my DD, and 5 rounds to get pregnant this time round (due very shortly!). Good luck - there are lots of success stories out there, so stay positive.

DS2 was concieved when I was taking Clomid for PCOS. I was told by the Dr that they were stopping my Clomid as I had been given 3 rounds & nothing had happened.

I took a pregnancy test so that I could take my last dose of the tablets, when I had a positive test result.

DS2 is 6 now, and I am now pregnant with DS3 (28 weeks) through natural & unexpected conception.

Am 35 weeks pregnant after 2nd cycle of clomid (have PCOS). We were told that we would need IVF due to DH's "abnormal sperm" and had to really talk the docs into letting us have a go on clomid while we were put on the waiting list for IVF and I was totally shocked but it worked.

Good luck!

nonu · 29/08/2010 10:02

hey HoneyBee79, congrats on the gud news, can u pls tell me whether u were taking something else with clomid or just that and what was it 50mg or 100mg.......

I am 36 weeks pregnant having taken Clomid as I don't ovulate by myself. After the first round was violently ill, seemed too much of a coincidence not to be linked to the Clomid and I was worried that I wouldn't be able to use it, but tried it again on next cycle and, unbelievably, go pregnant!

Don't give up. Clomid does have some good results and I hope it works for you.

todayis cd-5 and 3rd day of clomid 100mg..hey girls, thanx for all ur support, talking here really helps to keep my spirits up......

nonu, I was only taking clomid. I didn't take metformin with it because the metformin gave me a really upset stomach. I am trying to remember what my dose was . . . . I think that 50mg is the lowest and I was on 100mg. Think 150mg is the highest dose you can take.

I was ovulating really infrequently before I took clomid (maybe a few times a year) and when I took it they thought it wasn't working as I was getting no result using the ovulation test sticks. But apparently if you have PCOS then the sticks aren't always accurate. Only found out I was pregnant as did a pregnancy test to ensure I wasn't before starting the next cycle of clomid. Bloody lucky I was careful and tested!

Good luck.

Thax, today is cd-6 and 4th day of clomid, no side effects except for mood swings which i think DH is handling pretty well...

I took unprescribed clomid for 2 rounds with provera after ttc for 3 years with no luck and PCOS.

I got pregnant the month after finishing the second round after having my own (not provera) induced period and not using clomid.

I had also recently lost quite a bit of weight.

I am not sure if clomid affected me as I wasn't taking it the month I conceived, but not sure if the fact that I had a period the month before made a difference?

So I may (or may not) be a clomid success story.

Wish you all the luck in the world though.

uggmum · 31/08/2010 09:09

I got pregnant with dd1 with Clomid, it worked 1st time after 18 months of trying. She is 11.

Then I got pregnant with ds 3 years later with no help. he is 7.

I am trying for dc3, have had no success for 2 years. On 2nd cycle of Clomid. I was disappointed that it didn't work last month and had a terrible heavy period, it was awful.

Fingers crossed this month but I am pessimistic as I am now 39 and feel that time is running out.

nonu · 01/09/2010 08:19

hey girls, keeping fingers crossed for u uggmom today is cd-7 and last dosage of clomid, hoping some miracle happens this month,.....Hmm
