So, this really is tmi I know, but like last time, this pg I got swollen "bits" iykwim. Just noticed in the shower that one side is now much larger than the other. No pain, noninfection etc I'm 33weeks.

Please don't tell me I have piles AND vulval varicose veins as that is farking unfair!!

What should I do? Anything work to get rid of them? My poor dh will never be let near me again!

You can get swollen bits without having any issues like vulval varicose veins. Can you get your MW or GP to check you out?

HappyAsASandboy · 11/08/2010 13:50

I agree with japhrimel - you can have swollen bits (even wonky ones!) without it being veins.

I have had swollen bits since about week 14 without veins. Every now and then I get a bit more swollen and its always the left that leads the way! You may even up in a day or two Grin.

Yep, i've been swollen down there since about 16 weeks too (now 35+5).
For me, i just havent shown the husband - i think ive done enough emotional scarring throughout my pregnancy with my hormones let alone having him remember how different i look especially down there!
If you are worried though - go and get it checked. No harm in that.

Spoke to mw and had my worse confirmed Shock so waiting until after the birth and hopefully it will go - ladies be warned!!

Oh right! So... um - what was it? I'm wondering whether i need to see my GP now too...

SeaShellsOnTheSeaShore · 12/08/2010 15:33

To be technical, a varicose vein in my labia- so I could end up with a fanjo resembling a rugby player's ear Blush Grin as if pregnancy isn't degrading enough!! Recommend feet up, ice block in your knickers and should settle after the birth once the pressure goes - oh the joys!

Forgot to say- uniform swelling normal, but lopsided or sore etc etc not so normal, but not "serious" on their scale ( hugely traumatic on mine though Grin)

are varicose veins on your labia the same as vulval varicose veins? I have what i thought was vulval varicose veins, but basically this covers my whole entire fanjo. It's now spread round to the back too to give me the lovely hemorrhoids.... oh the joys. And if ONLY i could get my husband to find it unattractive!! I deliberately showed it all to him in the hope that he might be a bit turned off, but no luck there. In fact he was quite excited by me just showing it to him.....

ahhhhh - thanks very much - and sorry for pushing you to be so graphic!
Gosh, i do hope you get some relief soon.
:)

Grin isn't this what mumsnet is for - those discussions you'll never have with friends sober?!!!!

hemorrhoids already and I'm only 10 weeks. I CANNOT do another 7 months like this. Have had to buy a load of new knickers as was wearing thongs previously. Cream/ointment doesn't help at all. Any advice welcome!

PrematureEjoculation · 22/11/2010 11:11
