Exhausted Just by Getting Up?

Hello all,

I'm 7 weeks gone and feeling totally exhausted. Have cried off work today as I just can't face going in feeling this knackered when I've only just got up. Was expecting some tiredness but I get worn out just having a shower, have to have a rest before I go downstairs to have breakfast, which is not normal for me. I'm normally fairly fit and healthy, go to the gym etc but just haven't got any energy at the mo.

Do I fight it and try to carry on as normal, or should I go and see Dr for advice?

Thanks,

Ahh that sucks :( usual advice is eat well, rest, early nights etc. Maybe worth a trip to the docs or a call to mw if it carries on for bloods.

I feel asleep at the hairdressers and sitting in my car at the multistory a few weeks ago. Am 35 weeks now, first and third trimesters always the worst! x

Hi

I was really surprised at how tired I was in early pregnancy. At six weeks I was sleeping at least 12 hours a day and I still felt knackered.

The first trimester was really tough and I was so unprepared and because you look the same, you don't really get much sympathy.

My best advice is try and sleep/ rest as much as you can, fighting it just makes you feel more exhausted. It's a hormones thing.

It does get better though and at 38 weeks I have way more energy than I did in the beginning.

Good luck

Gracie xx

Thanks ladies, have booked in to see Dr (as I'm off today now anyway), see what she says.

Like you Gracie, I was expecting to feel tired but not this tired Shock

getstuffed oh dear, at least you have something to explain it tho, I know there will be some in work who think I'm skiving, what with there being no bump yet Sad

Don't worry- i discovered i was 6 weeks pregnant when i kept falling asleep at work in the afternoons. I literally could feel myself nodding off and found myself having to go and sit in the disabled loos with my head on the side of the basin for 5 minutes and have a word with myself!

Then the sickness kicked in so the more sleep i got the better. Don't worry if you don't feel up to going to work, it happens. Try to get early nights and eat as normally as possible if you're not being sick (i was- combination of not eating properly and being so tired nearly killed me).

Congratulations also!

Thanks all for comments.

So, Dr says, yes it is normal and has booked me in for a blood test to check anaemia just in case. I think I kind of knew that was what she was going to say, but feel better for having been. Smile

If it makes you feel any better, I fell asleep in the dentists chair while having my teeth cleaned last week.
I have never ever been this tired for this long - 31.5 weeks now.
