Hi there
I'm moving to ledbury in oct and need to get booked into a hospital. I've read some terrible things about hereford's maternity ward, but then gloucester doesn't sound much better! anyone have a positive experience they could share...or anther hospital they can recommend?
thanks

I was less than impressed with Hereford Hospital's ante-natal care, but that was in 2005/6 and it may well have improved. Fortunately I moved mid-pregnancy (out of that area) so I didn't give birth there.
I've got a very low opinion of the hospital in general because of the way they treated dh's granny in A&E and the Geriatric Wards but that's another story.

I'm a fair way south of you but fall under Gloucester's care too (expecting DC1 so can't share any experience yet!). Have you considered non hospital options? There is a MLU unit at Stroud which is supposed to be lovely and I am seriously considering - not too sure how far it would be for you though.

I think Gloucester now has/is about to have both a Consultant led ward and a Midwife lead birth centre so might be worth going and seeing how the two parts compare?
