Washing baby clothes!

Hi,

I have read on here that people say not to wash baby clothes with fabric conditioner. Does this apply to the comfort pure (i.e designed for babies) fabric conditioner too?

I am going to start all my washing today, clothes, bedding and sleeping bags. Anything else? I'm presuming I don't need to wash muslins do I, surely that's not necessary?!

I'm also guessing I can just put them all mixed in with my normal white load too?

Thanks.

My HV suggested leaving out the fabric conditioner when DD started showing signs of over dry skin - I was using Comfort pure. Sure enough she was fine after I stopped using it. I started again pretty quick as the clothes weren't very soft and she's been fine since.

Don't be fooled by designed for babies. Fairy brings both DH and DD out in a rash, it's the optical brighteners. Only Ecover washing powder is OK for the sensitive bunnies in our house (doesn't shift the stains very well through).

I wouldn't wash muslins, they're vommed on not worn and I've never washed anything separately - although if I had a load of new stuff I'd probably only wash that together on a short cool wash as it isn't really dirty.

i washed all my stuff for ds with the eco washer balls before he was born. didn't use powder and i never use fabric conditioner. he was fine but yes i would wash the muslins too-i wash everything before we wear it after hearing on here about the chemical residues left on clothes in production!(oh and he's 2!Blush)
