I know how you feel! I'm not particularly nauseous ATM (12 weeks) but I don't fancy anything healthy.

I was the same throughout my pregnancy with DD craving chocolate all the time. It didn't pass unfortunately and I was still left with a sweet tooth long after she was born!

This time it's more savoury things like crisps and supernoodles!

clarebear1 · 08/08/2010 14:18

OMG same here crisps and supernoodles! The thought of any food that comes into my head makes me feel sick :-(

I lived off pot noodles and cheesy chips for the first 10 weeks, now im finally at 13 weeks started to fancy healthy stuff again.

Lavitabellissima · 08/08/2010 16:40

I was the same chocolate milkshake, super noodles, pot noodles and cheesy chips.

Eat what you can , it does pass and I didn't put on any weight in the first trimester.

MrsBadger · 08/08/2010 16:50

just eat it

Graciescotland · 08/08/2010 17:06

Eat whatever you can keep down. I lived on carbs. It might be worth taking a multivitamin though. I know they say you get all your nutrients from a healthy diet but tis hard to do when your living on toast and pringles.

hoolabombshell · 08/08/2010 18:52

I haven't really seen anyone on these kinds of threads say that they crave meat of any kind. Wonder what that's about?

The thought of any kind of cooked meat has just given me the absolute (bleuughhhh!) willies for at least the past 6 weeks (I'm 13 wks).

MrsBadger · 08/08/2010 19:52

isn't it meant to be a primal cavewoman urge to protect us against food poisoning from dodgy meat etc?
you can't catch much from doughnuts...

Lushy28 · 08/08/2010 19:53

Same for me - Carb heavan!

clarebear1 · 08/08/2010 19:54

chicken seems the most unappealing food to me atm! made my fav meal the other night and didnt touch it :-(

Ok, if you all say eat what i want then i will, if i have to ;-)

Well if that's what the baby needs, that's what the baby needs Wink

bessyboop · 08/08/2010 22:34

I've had a bad diet day today - 3 slices of fruit cake, a big bowl of frosties, banana sandwich, spag bol, yogurt ... and am craving another slice of fruit cake before bed. Hmmm, better leave it or I'll have a heartburn.
I'm usually good, but today has been one of those days! Am 37+3 by the way - and have really bad SPD - so I need something to cheer me up hence comfort food!

slimyak · 09/08/2010 11:28

bessy thats not that bad: you've had fruit, dairy, a spread of carbs through out the day and vitamin fortified cereal. Don't give yourself a hard time.

clare my first preg with DD I couldn't eat chicken at all, couldn't stand the smell, sight or idea of it. Fowl stuff Grin

I say eat what you have to and what you fancy without going daft. I ate white carbs for the first 12 weeks. At 16 weeks I'm on a health kick, but I bet by 30 weeks I'll be on cheese and crackers and pot noodles.

pinkgrasshopper · 09/08/2010 11:41

Soooooooo glad it's not just me. I normally have a pretty healthy diet but the thought of a 'normal' meal of say, fish, veggies, pasta makes my stomach turn- I'm only 11 weeks. I seem to be living off cereal and toast (at any time of day). Oh, and Tuc biscuits with STRONG cheddar. Thank god for Tuc biscuits.

YellowCecil · 09/08/2010 19:46

Ha ha thank goodness for your ladies!, and my husband has been making out like I've been using pregnancy as an excuse to eat cake! I am sure there is a reason why we want to eat all this rubbish. I think your body just needs the extra energy for the work its doing.

Also interesting to hear that others have gone off meat. I used to have a ham salad sandwhich for lunch eveyday. From the minute I was pg, before I even knew, I was buying cheese and pickle. Go figure!
